  Call for researchers at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (2016-2017)

  La BnF publie son appel à chercheurs, afin de s'associer le concours de chercheurs pour l'année universitaire 2016-2017. Cet appel propose aux chercheurs un soutien financier au travers de neuf bourses de recherche pour un montant total de 88.000 euros, grâce à la générosité de la BnF, de ses mécènes et de ses partenaires. L'appel à chercheurs de la BnF s'adresse à tous pour les chercheurs invités et aux masterants et doctorants de moins de 35 ans pour les chercheurs associés. Les candidats peuvent proposer spontanément des sujets de travaux. Afin d’éviter la dispersion des propositions, deux axes de recherche sont indiqués : étude et valorisation des collections ; étude de l’histoire du livre et des bibliothèques. S'ajoute également une proposition de recherche sur l'oeuvre du dernier lauréat du « Prix de la BnF », Michel Houellebecq.

  Building Audiences for the Book in an Age of Media Proliferation

  By the book 3

  "By the Book 3" brings together scholars from the field of publishing studies, alongside industry professionals, to examine key issues around the digital transformation of the book, as well as to discuss the developing field of publishing studies. If we examine global book production over the last 70 years, there is a clear discrepancy between the growth in population, the number of titles published, and the number of books sold and lent. This divergent trends in book production and consumption pose a set of pressing questions related to the publishing economy, marketing and skills.
