Comparative approaches to identity-based protest in the context of "crisis"
Workshop of the Congrès annuel de la Société québécoise de science politique 2017
Cet atelier souhaite se pencher sur les mobilisations identitaires en contexte de « crise ». Il cherche à réunir des contributions s’intéressant à différentes régions et mouvements sociopolitiques, et mobilisant les littératures anglophone et francophone de la sociologie des mouvements sociaux, des littératures du contentious politics, de la violence politique et des études critiques de sécurité. Il privilégiera les communications appuyées sur une recherche empirique originale, que cette dernière présente une ou des études de cas ou une comparaison. L’atelier cherche à produire un dialogue constructif, en dressant des ponts entre les différentes littératures, et invite à tenter de débattre et d’explorer d’éventuelles hybridités théoriques.

Tensions and Reconfigurations After the Presidential Elections
S’inscrivant dans le sillage de la présidentielle de novembre 2016, ce colloque international, rassemblant historiens, politistes et sociologues, réunira sur trois jours des chercheurs français, européens et américains pour leur donner l’occasion de réfléchir ensemble à la présidence Obama. L’objectif premier de ce colloque international sera de tenter un premier bilan de la présidence Obama, notamment en la replaçant dans une perspective historique plus large incluant les grandes vagues de réformes qui l’ont précédée. Il s’agira donc de mettre à profit le caractère pluridisciplinaire pour mener un questionnement plus global sur la place de la présidence Obama dans l’histoire politique longue.

OiCi junior laboratory seminar
Le laboratoire junior (Re)faire le monde : les organisations internationales dans la circulation des idées(OiCi) vise à contribuer aux discussions concernant la place et le rôle effectifs des organisations internationales dans l’émergence, la formulation et/ou la diffusion d’idées. L’optique du laboratoire junior est pluridisciplinaire et cherche autant à identifier les acteurs qu’à comprendre les mécanismes qui sous-tendent la production et la diffusion d’« idées » – comprises au sens large de matrice cognitive et normative – à un échelon plus large que le niveau national.

Local and Regional Authorities as new diplomatic actors since the 1980's
The seminar will take place in the Strasburg villa of the European Parliamentary Association, and focus on the affirmation of the role of local authorities (cities, regions, federated states...) on the international stage since the 1980's. It will welcome contributions from a large scale of academic fields (history, political sciences, geography...), and aim at analysing the changes that this evolution brought to international relations as welle as the new definition of diplomacy that may have emerged from it.

The Price of Peace: Modernising the Ancien Régime?
Europe 1815-1848
In many historiographic traditions, the so-called "Restoration" has been depicted as an awkward interval between the Napoleonic Wars and the age of nationalism. This international conference has the ambition of breaking down old myths and stereotypes about the ‘Restoration’ in order to think more broadly and openly about the key transitions and issues. The conference will revolve around the provocative historiographical issue of whether the post-Napoleonic order represented an attempt to reconcile the heritage of the Ancien Régime with a deeply transformed world. Topics explored by panels of invited experts from across Europe will include Rethinking the "Restoration", New departures in international relations, Constitutions vs. Charters, Rebirth of composite monarchies, Before and Beyond the Nation, Historicising the Ancien Régime?, New borders and old identities.

The First European Multidisciplinary Conference on Global Internet Governance – Actors, Regulations, Transactions and Strategies (GIG-ARTS 2017)
“Digital diplomacy” has recently been the subject of significant debates, events and activities at a variety of governance sites. The concept is often used without having been clearly defined and delimited. For some, it is restricted to the use of digital means, especially social networks, by diplomats to practice a kind of “Public Diplomacy 2.0”. In others’ views, it extends to foreign affairs and international relations with regard to all matters related to the digital environment, including internet governance. There is undoubtedly a need to better understand recent transformations of diplomacy in the digital era, their drivers and their nature, whether and how they might change European and transnational power relations and, ultimately, which values they carry and channel on the global scene.

This conference intends to continue the tradition of the Hispanic-Dutch-Belgian meetings and will bring together a number of established and early-career researchers working in the field of the institutional history of the Habsburg Low Countries from the 16th to the 18th centuries. It aims to draw attention to a broad range of political, cultural, religious, legal, and military institutions by focusing on the enriching approaches that have shaped historical research on institutional history in the past few decades. At the same time, it hopes to bring into the limelight some exciting new (and often interdisciplinary) perspectives that characterize current research in the field.

Les technologies numériques offrent de multiples opportunités pour la démocratisation de l’accès à la culture, mais elles posent aussi de nombreux défis en termes de promotion et de protection des cultures nationales et locales. Ce colloque vise à interroger la capacité des États à accompagner et à réguler les écosystèmes numériques par des politiques publiques appropriées afin d’encourager la diversité de l’offre artistique et culturelle ainsi que d’en renforcer l’accessibilité. L’objectif est de dresser un panorama des mesures/stratégies et actions concrètes menées par les gouvernements nationaux et locaux pour adapter les structures traditionnelles et les principes-directeurs de leurs politiques culturelles à l’ère du numérique.
