  Languages in tension. The discourse and thought of Islam in Africa

  La langue arabe est consubstantielle du dogme et de la pratique de l’islam. Aussi la récitation et la prière ne peuvent-elles s’accomplir en aucun autre idiome. Pourtant, parmi les 242 millions de musulmans que compte l’Afrique subsaharienne, les deux tiers d’entre eux accèdent au message prophétique, aux rites ou aux normes au moyen d’autres langues que l’arabe. Dès lors, les langues vernaculaires deviennent un enjeu sociopolitique et identitaire déterminant pour les musulmans africains non arabophones, tandis que l’anglais et le français sont de plus en plus requis comme « langues islamiques » à côté de l’arabe.

  Ces congrès visent à introduire les soufis maghrébins les plus influents et inspirants qui ont transmis cet héritage soufi vivant à travers différents temps et lieux. Ils ont transmis des connaissances, des informations, des hagiographies, des textes traduits, des poèmes de dévotion et des expressions artistiques. Ils ont prêché la tolérance et la coexistence dans un contexte spirituel comme celui du Maroc. Cela a inspiré Ibn Qunfudh, chercheur algérien et spécialiste du Hadith, de dire: « La terre du Maroc engendre les Bons comme elle produit les pâturages ».

  Water Management in the Mediterranean during the 1st Millennium BC

  IIIe symposium international HYDRΩMED

  The aim of the meeting is to compare the different modes of adaptation of the Ancient Mediterranean populations to the environmental resources, especially their hydric resources. In a climate marked by unequal distribution of water, the ancient societies, whether Phoenician-Punic, Greek or Etruscan, responded in different ways to the various situations, let alone the hydric crises which may have affected them. The meeting will associate systemic theoretical reflections as well as case studies on ancient sites, to outline the mutations and the permanencies, the possible technological transfers from one society to another. Here, as in other fields of human activity, we shall query the existence of an ancient Mediterranean koine around the knowledge and the technical practices, around the cultural and cultural traditions. The chronology considered runs from the 8^th to the 1^st century BC, i.e. before the diffusion of the Roman models and techniques.

  Foucault and the clergy, the self and the field of study

  Social sciences of the clergy in thoughts and deeds

  Cette année, le dernier lundi du mois de 17 h 30 à 19 h, le séminaire des doctorants du CéSoR se penchera sur deux thèmes alternés, l’un à orientation théorique et l’autre à orientation méthodo-épistémologique. Une séance sur deux, le séminaire aura pour thème « Michel Foucault et les sciences sociales du religieux ». Le but de ces séances sera de réfléchir d’un point de vue interdisciplinaire aux divers apports des théories de Foucault, pour la recherche en sciences sociales du religieux aujourd’hui.
