  Une bourse post-doctorale pour le projet ANR « AsileuropeXIX »

  Le projet AsileuropeXIX, financé par l'Agence nationale de la recherche (2016-2020) et hébergé par l'université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne, veut proposer une histoire européenne de l'exil et de l'asile politiques au XIX^e siècle. Une bourse post-doctorale est proposée dans le cadre de ce projet pour l'année universitaire 2016-2017. Le·la post-doctorant·e recruté·e, titulaire d'un doctorat en histoire contemporaine et familier·e de l'histoire des mobilités et des migrations, aura la charge d'aider à la coordination du projet et de participer aux dépouillements d'archives prévus dans plusieurs pays d'Europe.

  Gens de robe, gens de guerre : ordre public et ordre social

  Journées internationales de la Société d'histoire du droit et des institutions des pays flamands, picards et wallons

  La Société d'histoire du droit et des institutions des pays flamands, picards et wallons, fondée à Lille en 1929, tient des journées internationales, organisées par une ou des institutions partenaires en France, en Belgique ou aux Pays-Bas. Après l'Université d'Utrecht en 2014 ou le château de Compiègne en 2015, la conférence aura lieu cette année dans le cadre prestigieux de l'Académie Royale de Belgique, autour du thème « Gens de robe - gens de guerre : ordre public et ordre social ». L'organisation de cette année repose sur l'École Militaire et le Comité d'histoire du droit auprès de l'Académie Royale Flamande de Belgique (KVAB), soutenus par la Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB, Contextual Research in Law), l'université libre de Bruxelles (ULB, Centre d'histoire du droit et d'anthropologie juridique) et l'université Saint-Louis (Centre de recherches en histoire du droit et des institutions). La Société tiendra son banquet et son assemblée générale.

  A Jewish Model of Devolution? Inheritance in the Medieval and Modern Jewish Societies

  In the last two decades, the history of the Jewish family has been at the center of a number of studies that have – in the light of a more general historiographical evolution – considerably renewed the subjects and perspectives of this field of research. In this context that made the Jewish studies a well distinguished discipline, we wish to focus on an aspect that has never been studied systematically and has never been subject to a methodological and comparative synthesis: the patrimonial transmission.

  Representing the Urban Underbelly in the Nineteenth Century

  In conjunction with the exhibitions Easy Virtue: Prostitution in French Art, 1850-1910 (Van Gogh Museum) and Breitner: Girl in Kimono (Rijksmuseum), ESNA (European Society for Nineteenth-Century Art) organizes its annual two-day international conference around the topic of the “urban underbelly” and its depiction in nineteenth-century art. Both exhibitions explore the depiction of women in the margins of urban life – the prostitute, the model, working (class) women, and the women of the entertainment industry.
