Il a pour ambition de stimuler et de favoriser la recherche, mais aussi et surtout de valoriser ses résultats, notamment par une diffusion auprès des publics sous la forme d’expositions, de manifestations et de publications.

  CIFRE doctoral contract in the humanities and social sciences with RIZE

  Dans le cadre de ses activités de recherche, le Rize, équipement culturel de la Ville de Villeurbanne, recrute pour la rentrée universitaire 2016/2017 un doctorant en sciences humaines et sociales, dans le cadre du dispositif CIFRE (thèse de 3 ans). Les candidats sont libres de proposer tout sujet de recherche, dès lors qu’il se conforme aux problématiques propres au Rize et qu’il concerne le territoire villeurbannais (ou qu’il inscrit le territoire villeurbannais dans une démarche comparative). Celles-ci s'articulent autour de trois thématiques principales : Villeurbanne, culture ouvrière et immigration.

  Call for papers - Sociology

  Militant practices and careers in works' councils: 70 years of existence. What about now?

  La célébration des soixante-dix ans des comités d’entreprise fournit une bonne occasion de s’interroger sur la place qu’occupent aujourd’hui ces institutions dans les pratiques et dans les stratégies syndicales. Alors qu’ils constituent un point d’ancrage important dans la vie des équipes syndicales dans les entreprises de plus de cinquante salariés, les comités d’entreprise demeurent relativement peu explorés comme univers de pratiques par la recherche scientifique. Ce colloque, pluridisciplinaire, cherchera à valoriser des travaux empiriques récents qui interrogent à nouveaux frais l'histoire de cette institution, mais aussi les usages des comité d'entreprises et les profils des salariés qui s'investissent en leur sein.

  Call for papers - History

  Accidents and the role of the State in the 20th century

  In the workshop on "Accidents and the role of the state" we want to discuss, from a historical perspective, the changing relationship between accidents and the modern state during the 20^th century. Strasbourg)-FRIAS (Freiburg) joint research project on military accidents in France and Germany in the twentieth century. We are therefore especially interested in proposals that deal with the role of the military. However, relevant topics for the workshop could, of course, also come from the realm of the histories of technology, of environment, of medicine, or of the rise of the modern state. We are interested both in presentations of case studies as well as in more conceptual approaches on the topic. Contributions that deal with accidents in German and French history are highly welcome. However, the call is by no means limited to historians of France or Germany.
