UDPN seminar (the uses of digitised heritage) (2016/17)
Au cours de cette deuxième session du séminaire annuel du réseau Usages des patrimoines numérisés, les séances seront organisées dans un souci de développer des approches qui puissent être utiles dans une perspective d’initiation et de formation aux pratiques des humanités numériques et aux questionnements épistémologiques et méthodologiques non seulement auprès des doctorants et chercheurs mais aussi auprès de professionnels du patrimoine. Il s’agit d’envisager différents types de matériaux, de méthodes et de démarches au travers d’expérimentations et de réalisations techniques et pratiques issus des projets UDPN afin d’envisager leur prolongement et extension.

Ce numéro de Essachess examine les perspectives rhétoriques et/ou culturelles critiques sur la paix, la non-violence et le rôle du discours civique dans la société contemporaine. Il vise à couvrir le savoir scientifique qui se concentre principalement sur les 30 dernières années, y compris la période historique d’après 1989, qui a créé une démocratisation du discours à travers le monde, encore plus engagé dans la paix et les conflits dans les perspectives paradigmatiques sur la migration, le terrorisme, le communisme et le changement politique et social.

Digital Cultural Policies in Comparison
International Journal of Arts Management, Lax and Society (fall of 2017 — vol. 47, no. 3.)
The late 1990s and 2000s were marked by the emergence of the “creative industries” as the dominant paradigm in cultural policies and cultural policies studies. Both a discourse and an instrument, it was quick to spread, notwithstanding its many internal flaws and shortcomings—including, for example, its lack of consensus around key concepts, utopianism, and the overall subordination of culture to the so-called “knowledge economy”. The aim of this special issue is to assemble different perspectives and finely grained enquiries into the current state of digital cultural policies and policy-making across a large array of contexts related to the production, distribution, and consumption of digital culture, as well as geographical and institutional anchorage—perspectives and enquiries that will then dialogue with one another.

Repetition/s: Performance and Philosophy in Ljubljana
Contemporary developments in the increasingly intertwined fields of philosophy and performance call for a renewed inquiry into the question of repetition. With its unique critique of ideology arising from a synthesis of German Idealism and Lacanian psychoanalysis, the Ljubljana School (Dolar, Zupančič, Žižek et al.) continues to furnish important theorisations of repetition and performance as they pertain to subjectivity and the political. One of the primary aims of “Repetition/s” will be to investigate and develop the usefulness of the Ljubljana School’s theorisations for the emerging field of Performance Philosophy.

Urban data, what practices for what knowledge?
Pluridisciplinary perspectives of digital traces
Le colloque vise à interroger différentes modalités du « point de vue » numérique sur la ville et de son traitement dans la recherche à travers les données numériques (cartographie, avis des internautes, données de géolocalisation, publications photographiques, données sonores), à partir du dialogue scientifique de chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales (sociologie, urbanisme, anthropologie, géographie, info-communication, etc.) et en informatique. Les enjeux épistémologiques, méthodologiques et éthiques de la collecte, du traitement et de l'interprétation sociale et scientifique de ces corpus de données produites dans et par la ville seront abordés pour questionner les médiations de l’expérience urbaine, au croisement d’évolutions techniques et de mutations sociales et culturelles.

La banque d’enquêtes qualitatives en sciences sociales (beQuali) est un outil à vocation nationale développé au sein du Centre de données socio-politiques (CDSP). beQuali propose, sous réserve d’autorisation, un accès à des matériaux d’enquêtes de sciences sociales menées à partir de méthodes qualitatives (observations, entretiens, focus groups, etc.) et à une documentation restituant le contexte de leur production. beQuali lance du 1er juin au 18 septembre 2016 un appel à propositions d'enquêtes, ouvert aux chercheurs, aux professionnels de l'information scientifique et technique et aux institutions ayant produit ou conservant des enquêtes qualitatives en sciences sociales. Il vise à recueillir des propositions d'enquêtes en vue de leur dépôt sur beQuali.fr.

Doctoral fellowships at the cluster of excellence (LabEx) "Pasts in the Present"
The cluster of excellence (Labex) Pasts in the Present: History, Heritage, Memory, will award three (3) doctoral fellowships, in July 2016, for dissertations undertaken at one of the graduate programs of the University of Paris West Nanterre La Defense. The Pasts in the Present: History, Heritage, Memory cluster of excellence is concerned with the presence of the past in contemporary society. The cluster of excellence seeks to understand mediations of history in the digital age, politics of memory, social appropriations of the past up - and downstream from heritage policies. The reflection is interdisciplinary and organised in two fundamental themes. The first, “Connections to the Past: Representations and Assessments,” seeks a global analysis of representations of the past from every epoch (from prehistory to the present). The second, “Active Knowledge of the Past: Practices and Tools of Transmission,” is based on documentary and archival resources and collections conserved by the cluster’s different partners.

Mobilities and digital (r)evolutions
Au-delà de la portabilité ou mobilité croissante des technologies de l’information et de la communication (TIC), objets connectés et dispositifs numériques de toutes sortes se diffusent dans le quotidien des individus : la multiplication dans les média spécialisés ou non de références à l’e-mobilité, au robomobile, à la ville 2.0, à l’überisation, à la géolocalisation, etc. en témoigne. Intrinsèquement, la récurrence de ces mots clés révèle une association croissante entre les technologies de(s) transports et technologies numériques. Les liens et interdépendances entre mobilités et TIC sont potentiellement multiples et laissent place à de nombreuses interrogations. Ces dernières ne sont pas nouvelles en soi et dépassent largement le cadre des déplacements. Néanmoins, elles ne se limitent plus à des débats entre substitution ou complémentarité et sont éminemment plus complexes.

L’idée préconçue selon laquelle les humains ne font que se déplacer dans l’espace en le laissant inchangé doit être remise en question. En effet, il semble plus juste de concevoir l’espace comme une construction, continuellement en train de se faire et de se transformer. En prenant en considération que la spatialité peut être pensée autrement que dans sa seule dimension physique, nous pouvons nous demander quelle place prennent les pratiques humaines dans la transformation de l’espace socionumérique. Par quels processus cet espace se transforme-t-il ? Comment l’espace social est-il transformé par l’avènement et la prégnance du numérique ?
