  Nicole Prize 2017 at the French Society for Art History

  Le prix Nicole, créé à l'initiative de la Société de l'histoire de l'art français, récompense chaque année l'auteur d'une thèse de doctorat portant sur l'art français du XVI^e, du XVII^e ou du XVIII^e siècle, relative à la peinture, au dessin, à la gravure, à la sculpture, à l'architecture ou aux arts décoratifs. Il est décerné sous l'égide du Comité français d'histoire de l'art.

  Charles C. Eldredge prize 2017

  The Smithsonian American Art Museum is now accepting nominations for the 2017 Charles C. Eldredge Prize. Single-author books devoted to any aspect of the visual arts of the United States and published in the three previous calendar years are eligible. To nominate a book, send a letter (not to exceed one page in length) explaining the work’s significance to the field of American art history and discussing the quality of the author’s scholarship and methodology. Nominations by authors or publishers for their own books will not be considered.

  Five "Immersion" grants at the LabEx CAP

  Creation, arts and heritage laboratory of excellence (2016-2017)

  Le Laboratoire d’excellence Création, arts et patrimoines (LabEx CAP), annonce l’attribution par voie de concours de cinq bourses « Immersion » pour l’année 2016-2017. Le programme « Immersion » est un dispositif nouveau et original à double visée. Il contribue à la formation professionnelle des doctorants qui s’orientent vers les métiers de la culture en rapport avec la recherche universitaire. Il vient également en appui au développement des départements recherche des musées et à la réalisation des projets de recherche des institutions patrimoniales membres du Labex CAP.

  The College Art Association (CAA) and Terra Foundation for American Art invite applications for the 2017 Terra Foundation for American art international publication grant. The grant provides financial support for the publication of book-length scholarly manuscripts on the history of American art from circa 1500 to 1980 in the current-day geographic United States.

  French cinema and historical research into cinema

  Depuis 2008, La Cinémathèque française développe ses liens avec le monde de la recherche en histoire du cinéma. Le programme de son appel à chercheurs annuel a pour but d’offrir un accueil privilégié, assorti de divers avantages, à des chercheurs intéressés par des travaux sur ses collections, en vue de thèses ou de mastères. Le partenariat entre le chercheur et la Cinémathèque française donne lieu à un contrat de recherche stipulant les droits et obligations du chercheur. Parmi les chercheurs dont les projets seront retenus, trois pourront bénéficier d’une bourse.

  Focillon Grant 2016

  La bourse Focillon est décernée tous les ans par le Comité français d'histoire de l'art (CFHA) à un jeune chercheur en histoire de l'art (alternativement à un universitaire et à un conservateur), sans exclusive de domaine ou de période. Elle permet au·à la lauréat·e de séjourner pendant trois mois à Yale University (New Haven, Connecticut) et de poursuivre ses recherches en bénéficiant des excellentes conditions de travail qu'elle offre (en particulier les bibliothèques).

  Founded in 2001, the Terra Summer Residency brings together doctoral scholars of American Art and emerging artists worldwide for a nine-week residential program in the historic village of Giverny, France. The program encourages independent work while providing seminars and mentoring by senior scholars and artists to foster reflection and debate.
