  The Institutions of the Habsburg Low Countries (XVI-XVIII c.)

  IX Conference of Spanish, Belgian and Dutch historians. In honour of Professor Hugo de Schepper

  This conference intends to continue the tradition of the Hispanic-Dutch-Belgian meetings and will bring together a number of established and early-career researchers working in the field of the institutional history of the Habsburg Low Countries from the 16^th to the 18^th centuries. It aims to draw attention to a broad range of political, cultural, religious, legal, and military institutions by focusing on the enriching approaches that have shaped historical research on institutional history in the past few decades. At the same time, it hopes to bring into the limelight some exciting new (and often interdisciplinary) perspectives that characterize current research in the field.

  Creating the Europe 1600-1815 Galleries

  This conference celebrates the opening of the V&A’s new Europe 1600-1815 Galleries. It will introduce some of the new patterns of living that laid the foundations for our modern world. The papers will be presented according to the three main themes that create a narrative structure for the displays and interpretation in the galleries: first, that, for the first time ever, Europeans systematically explored, exploited, and collected resources from Africa, Asia and the Americas in their art and design; second, that France took over from Italy as leader of fashion and art in the second half of the 17th century; and third, that ways of living came to resemble those we know today.

  Le théâtre d'Albert Camus et le Siècle d'or

  La fascination exercée sur Albert Camus par les formes théâtrales de l’Espagne du Siècle d’or ne s’observe pas seulement à travers ses adaptations de La Dévotion à la croix de Calderón ou du Chevalier d’Olmedo de Lope. Elle se manifeste aussi dans de nombreux écrits, qu’il s’agisse de conférences, de préfaces ou d’entretiens. Le colloque pluridisciplinaire Le Théâtre d’Albert Camus et le Siècle d’or vise à faire avancer la réflexion sur Camus en tant qu’homme de théâtre.

  Pratiques et stratégies de discours. Espagne, Portugal, Amérique latine (XVe-XVIIIe siècle)

  Ce numéro des Cahiers d'études des cultures ibériques et latino-américaines (CECIL) invite ainsi à s'interroger à l’époque moderne sur les stratégies d'écriture, de réécriture et de construction du discours afin de  mystifier les censeurs de la fin du Moyen Âge et de la modernité. Par delà les pratiques d'écriture propres aux auteurs mystiques et ascétiques, les contribution d'études replaceront la médiatisation du texte ascétique dans son rapport à la norme juridique et canonique.
