The congress aims to bring together researchers and scientists from different backgrounds intersecting with the social sciences revealing the visible and invisible networks. This congress intends to meditate on science, and to understand how it is being constructed nowadays. Nodegoar est un environnement web qui permet la gestion, l'analyse et la visualisation de données, développé par Pim van Bree et Geert Kessels (LAB1100). Une base de données bien réfléchie offre aux projets d'histoire numérique la possibilité d'analyses variées, de visualisations et d'interconnexion. Toute base de données historiques nécessite une compréhension approfondie des modèles conceptuel et logique des données. De même, le développement d'une interface adaptée est aussi une question importante. L'atelier aborde trois phases distinctes dans la modélisation des données: l'élaboration du modèle conceptuel, la conception du modèle logique de données et l'utilisation d'une application de base de données.

Un symposium, New Directions for Libraries, Scholars, and Partnerships aura lieu le vendredi 13 octobre 2017 à la Bibliothèque nationale allemande lors de la Salon du livre de Francfort. Le symposium est organisé par le Collaboratif international des fonds documentaires en langue française (CIFNAL) et le partenariat germano-nord-américain sur les ressources (GNARP), deux projets de travail du Centre for Research Libraries (Chicago, États-Unis), avec le soutien de la Bibliothèque nationale allemande et autres partenaires français, allemands et internationaux. Les sujets de session comprennent : les collections et la collaboration ; érudition numérique ; la révolution de l'édition ; nouvelles dimensions du service aux étudiants et étudiants ; et de nouvelles stratégies pour les services et les partenariats.

“History in Africa” Journal

This featured section of History in Africa will address the wave of digitisation of archives in Africa over the last fifteen years. With the rise of information technologies, an increasing part of public – and to some extent private - African archives are being digitised and made accessible on the internet. This wave of digitisation is usually seen as a progress with the help of ambitious initiatives applying new technologies to cultural heritage of humanity such as the rescue of the manuscripts of Timbuktu or the Endangered Archives programme at the British Library. Yet as much as these new technologies raise enthusiasm, they also prompt discussions amongst researchers and archivists, which go from intellectual property to sovereignty and governance.

École d’été DARIAH

La journée inaugurale introduira les problématiques et objectifs de cette école d’été. Les journées suivantes alterneront des matinées de présentations et des après-midis d’ateliers de mise en œuvre pratique en groupes. Les stagiaires apprendront à traiter les documents sources dans un environnement numérique avec des outils adaptés. Plusieurs documents patrimoniaux sélectionnés dans les fonds des bibliothèques et archives du Mans, du Maine et de l’Anjou, préalablement préparés en version numérique, serviront d’appui aux exercices. Des conférences, ouvertes au public, de spécialistes internationaux clôtureront les journées sur plusieurs aspects de la « Bibliotheca digitalis ».
