  Représentations de l’étrangère dans les littératures et l’art cinématographique au Maghreb

  Le regard européen jeté sur le Maghreb a eu longtemps une tendance réductrice, en parlant de cette aire de civilisation comme d’un tout unitaire, sans tenir compte des spécificités locales et nationales qui ont d’ailleurs fasciné et attiré depuis toujours les Occidentaux. Le Maghreb est un espace pluriel du point du vue géographique, linguistique, historique, économique, social, politique et, d’autant plus, culturel. La colonisation française et l’appartenance à un espace culturel plus vaste qu’on appelle arabo-musulman sont les deux éléments les plus cités quand on pense à ce qui unit les pays du Maghreb. La colonisation a été un événement historique et politique dont dérivent nombre de spécificités de l’espace nord-africain et qui a exercé une influence certaine à tous les niveaux de la société, avec des conséquences qui sont encore visibles.

  The Other Half of Communism: Women's Outlook

  “History of Communism in Europe” Journal, no. 8/ 2017

  This issue looks to include the most recent scholarship on women and their intricate relations with the communist parties in Europe, during the XX^th century. While including the valuable scholarship on “exceptional” personalities such as Alexandra Kollontai, Inessa Armand or Dolores Ibarruri, this issue aims to explore the voices of women that by political choice or simply historical tournaments found themselves as both objects and subjects of the communist parties. The political evolution of Europe through the century, the existence of USSR and the national (illegal) branches affiliated to the Communist International, and later of an Eastern Bloc determined completely different experiences, forms of activism and sociability. This issue of History of Communism in Europe aims to follow the relation between communism and women before and after the Second World War, on the both sides of the Iron Curtain.
