  Le fascisme italien au prisme des arts contemporains

  Réinterprétations, montages, déconstructions

  Tandis que les actualités portent à notre attention, d’une manière plus ou moins manifeste, la persistance des formes et des valeurs qui ont déterminé la période du Ventennio, réfléchir sur le fascisme au prisme des arts contemporains, signifie aborder un terme dont le sens est au moins double: d’une part, l’expérience historique du régime qui a régné en Italie de 1922 à 1943 et d’autre part, par extension, la forme du pouvoir totalitaire. Le regard des arts contemporains semble donc se décliner dans deux directions: le fascisme italien comme événement historique (comparé à la difficulté de sa/ses mémoire/s) et le fascisme comme mécanisme de relation et rituel de pouvoir.

  Litany in the Arts and Culture

  The litany derives from ancient religious rites. Throughout the ages, however, it spread across many countries and became much more than a mere form of prayer. As has been demonstrated by our recent studies on the litanic forms in European poetry it is possible to reconstruct a cultural and literary map of European regions that traces the level of their participation in and contribution to the litanic tradition. The litanic verse is marked by religious semantics, but it also bears the mark of inter-European divisions, such as those experienced between and within various denominations, countries and nations, as well as the original folk cultures. Therefore, the litany may be of interest to scholars specializing in areas such the emergence of national identities and religious minorities, the crossover between art and religion as well as between music and poetry, the history of liturgy and spiritual life, the cultural exchanges between various nations.

  Constructing Kurgans

  Burial mounds and funerary customs in the Caucasus, Northwestern Iran and Eastern Anatolia during the Bronze and Iron Age

  The tradition of burying the dead in burial mounds (kurgans), usually consisting of a funerary chamber limited by stone or brickslabs and covered by dirt and gravel, started in the fourth millennium BCE in the northern Caucasus and then spread south to the rest of the Caucasus regions, eastern Anatolia and northwestern Iran during the Bronze Age and Iron Age. The spread of the kurgan tradition, as well as the territorial, political, social, and cultural values embedded in their construction and their symbolic relation to the surrounding landscape are under debate. The workshop aims to examine chronological issues, cultural dynamics at inter-regional scale, rituals and burial patterns related to these funerary structures. The beliefs and ideologies that possibly connected the "kurgan people" over such a wide geographical area, as well as past and present theoretical frameworks, will also be discussed.

  Scritture femminili del Novecento Europeo

  In un momento in cui i flussi migratori ci interpellano sempre più e in un’ottica sempre meno nazionale e sempre più europea, e in cui la categoria di frontiera è in via di profonda ridefinizione, il pensiero di coloro che hanno conosciuto/raccontato l’esilio è un supporto prezioso alle nostre riflessioni più attuali. I Club Soroptimist International di Messina e di Spadafora Gallo-Niceto organizzano un Convegno sulla Letteratura femminile del Novecento Europeo sul tema dell’Esilio. Gli interventi che si succederanno andranno ad abbracciare: l’esperienza esistenziale di autrici di testi letterari di qualsiasi genere che hanno vissuto in prima personale la fuga e il confino, attraverso i loro scritti personali e autobiografici; le storie di finzione (romanzi, poesie, racconti, radiodrammi, …) pubblicate da autrici che hanno affrontato tali tematiche senza per questo aver vissuto necessariamente sulla propria pelle l’erranza e l’estradizione.
