  Comparative approaches to games through the ages and across civilisations - from toys to practices

  Nous nous intéresserons au cours decette manifestation au jeu à travers les âges et les civilisations, de l'Antiquité classique au monde contemporain. Nous aurons l’occasion d’approfondir les questions posées par le  jeu, ses objets associés et ses pratiques, mais aussi de partager avec un public plus large que le seul milieu des spécialistes ces problématiques qui soulèvent de manière comparatiste une réflexion sur notre société contemporaine. L’étude de la culture matérielle offre en effet une clé d’accès privilégiée à l’histoire des sociétés anciennes, mais aussi plus récentes.

  Cultural transformations in Norman medieval worlds (8th-12th century) - objects, actors and mediators

  Many objects can be subject to cultural transfers and their study is particularly important in order to understand the Norman worlds at the frontiers of Christianity, such as in the Scandinavian world, Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean Sea. This conference will also be the occasion to reflecton the organisation of our current understanding by examining the relevance of analytical frameworks according to the categories of objects (material and immaterial), their capacity or ability to undergo transformations or their mobility. Finally, the conference will examine the role and involvement of the actors of cultural transfers depending on their status or function, but also on their ability to initiate or promote a transfer.

  Call for papers - Epistemology and methodology

  Archeological diagnosis as a research tool

  Le séminaire organisé à Caen par l’Inrap et ses partenaires a pour objet le diagnostic archéologique comme acte scientifique et outil de recherche. Il s’inscrit dans un débat aussi ancien que la pratique du diagnostic archéologique lui-même et souhaite le prolonger. Pionnier il y a une trentaine d’années, assez couramment pratiqué sur l’ensemble du territoire depuis vingt ans, le diagnostic a en effet suscité depuis 1993, et surtout depuis la mise en place de la loi de 2003, la publication d’une série de tables rondes ou de séminaires organisés par l’État et par l’Inrap
