The many paths of Global Studies (2017-2018)
En partant d’une lecture des discours qui se sont mis en réseau discursif sous l’appellation lâche de Global Studies, le séminaire veut mettre en regard les propositions des disciplines qui construisent ou reconstruisent actuellement des concepts du mondial avec leurs conditions discursives dans l’université en cours de mondialisation ; c’est-à-dire aussi sur l’horizon, géopolitiquement et linguistiquement différencié, de la société de la connaissance.

"The Balfour Declaration" : What centenary
In order to address this notorious Declaration, we propose a debate on the historical, political and geostrategic circumstances that led to the Balfour Declaration, and how practical politics influences the making of Britain’s foreign policy. The Balfour Declaration and its ramifications at the local and global levels could be tackled with reference to a myriad of theoretical frameworks such as the postcolonial/political theory, new historicism, ethnography, to name but a few.

By all measures, Germany played an overwhelming role in the development of philology and linguistics during the 19th century. This ascendancy rests on the transmission to other national academies of theoretical constructs and views, methods and institutional practices. On the other hand, German philological and linguistic ideas, methods and institutions were not constituted in isolation from the rest of the world : Transfers to the German-speaking world must also be taken into account.
