  Crowdsourcing as a means to share, enrich and publish heritage sources

  The wide variety of these projects, their objects, and their contributing “crowds” is striking: “Transcribe Bentham”, “Zooniverse”, etc. not forgetting Wikipedia. Facing this fact, it seems interesting to allow researchers from various disciplinary origins to gather and question crowdsourcing together. A large number of questions are at stake, from a scientific point of view, but also sociologically and ethically: are there common practices to these projects that are so different in their objects, objectives, data, and contributors? We thus wish, during this international and interdisciplinary conference, to confront theories, reflexions and sharing out of experiences on this subject.

  An International Symposium

  A symposium, New Directions for Libraries, Scholars, and Partnerships, will take place on Friday, October 13, 2017, at the German National Library during the Frankfurt Book Fair. The Symposium is sponsored by the Collaborative Initiative for French Language Collections (CIFNAL) and the German-North American Resources Partnership (GNARP), both working projects of the Center for Research Libraries (Chicago, USA), with support from the German National Library and other French, German, and international partners. Session topics include: collections and collaboration; digital scholarship; the publishing revolution; new dimensions of service to scholars and students; and new strategies for services and partnerships.

  Ein wissenschaftliche/n Mitarbeiter/in Akademienvorhaben "Alexander von Humboldt auf Reisen – Wissenschaft aus der Bewegung"

   

  Die Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften (BBAW) ist eine Körperschaft des öffentlichen Rechts mit Sitz in Berlin. Ihr wissenschaftliches Profil ist vor allem geprägt durch langfristig orientierte Grundlagenforschung der Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften. Die Akademie beschäftigt etwa 350 Mitarbeiter/innen, ihr Jahresbudget beträgt rund 20 Mio. Euro. Die Akademie sucht für das Akademienvorhaben „Alexander von Humboldt auf Reisen – Wissenschaft aus der Bewegung (AvH-R)“ zum 1. Oktober 2017 eine/n wissenschaftliche/n Mitarbeiter/in mit 80% der tariflichen Regelarbeitszeit, zunächst befristet für zwei Jahre.

  The notion of "author" through the prism of the socio-economic changes in the book profession

  Issues of genre

  L’objectif de ce séminaire est d'une part, d’établir un état des lieux des pratiques, discours, positionnements et représentations éditoriales en les examinant à partir de la notion d’« auteur » dans le secteur des littératures de genre et d'autre part, de contribuer à une réflexion théorique et méthodologique à partir de l’exposé de travaux de recherche en cours sur cette thématique. Il s’agit, de fait, d’analyser de quelles manières certaines mutations socio-économiques (autoédition, désacralisation de l’acte d’écriture avec la mise en place d’ateliers, de formations, à l’image de la pratique du Creative Writing, surproduction, concurrence accrue, rationalisation, recours au crowdsourcing) reconfigurent tout particulièrement la notion d’« auteur » au sein de ce secteur, qui rencontre un très fort succès auprès du lectorat.

  Training in digital humanities practices, LabexMed/MMSH

  Les humanités numériques – Digital Humanities – se sont structurées avec l’intensification des usages des technologies numériques à tous les niveaux de la recherche en sciences humaines et sociales. LabexMed a pour objectif de promouvoir les Digital Humanities et la diffusion de nouvelles pratiques collaboratives dans le domaine des sciences humaines et sociales dans les pays de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée. Les ateliers du numérique ont pour but de favoriser une large appropriation des outils et des standards du numérique ; de partager, de mettre en réseau et de rendre accessibles les ressources documentaires des laboratoires partenaires de LabexMed.
