    Creativity in territories, issues in sustainable training?

    C’est dans la diversité des territoires que les innovations sont qualifiées dans une logique d’usage prospective, au-delà du court terme des inventions. Les combinaisons les plus réussies de la coopération sont celles où différents acteurs du terrain peuvent susciter et stimuler un « vivre ensemble » de leurs savoirs, leurs savoirs faire et leur créativité. Au-delà des compétences sectorielles liées à l’innovation, dont l’enseignement supérieur est traditionnellement dépositaire, les universités technologiques ont donc besoin de comprendre et d’enseigner des savoirs culturels et sociaux et reconsidérer les apports des disciplines connexes (géographie, histoire, sociologie, anthropologie mais aussi littérature et arts) dans leurs multiples expressions de lien (oralités, écritures, images & sons).

    The Department of Gender Studies and Islamic Studies of the University of Zurich is organizing the first workshop of the Gender in University and Society (GENiUS) network on “Concepts that Matter! Terminologies of Women and Gender in Transnational Perspective”. GENiUS is an informal Swiss-Arab Network of academics specialized in the field of Gender Studies in and on the Arab region that aims at fostering scientific exchange on the levels of research, teaching and institution building.

    This monthly seminar will aim to invite researchers to come and present their work in progress or recently published that address the “Arab mathematics”, understood in a broad sense to be studied not only mathematics itself, but science “mathematized” of the era, such as astronomy, optics and static; Furthermore, we do not restrict themselves to only written in Arabic mathematics, but we can address their writings in other languages extensions, like Latin, Hebrew and Farsi.
