The integraion of North Africa in the Islamic world (7th-10th centuries)

Dans le cadre des travaux initiés en 2013 par le Labex Les passés dans le présent (université Paris Nanterre), historiens de l’Antiquité et du Moyen Âge ont entrepris d’explorer, en se fondant sur des données textuelles et archéologiques, les étapes et modalités de l’intégration du Nord de l’Afrique au monde islamique, depuis la conquête arabo-musulmane jusqu’à la révolution fatimide. À l’issue d’un important travail de traduction des textes arabes qu’il conviendra de présenter, et dans la perspective d’un renouveau ininterrompu des sources disponibles dont on rendra compte, nous nous proposons de réunir dans ce colloque différents spécialistes internationaux de ce champ, spécialistes de plusieurs disciplines (archéologie, papyrologie, histoire…) afin d’explorer l’histoire de l’insertion de l’Afrique du Nord, et plus particulièrementde sa partie orientale, l’Ifrīqiya, dans le monde islamique entre le VII^e et le X^e siècle.

Multilinguales est une revue scientifique, annuelle, de langue française, mais elle est ouverte à la réflexion sur toutes les langues. Elle ambitionne de contribuer aux investigations scientifiques dans des disciplines telles que la linguistique, la sociolinguistique, l’ethnolinguistique, la psycholinguistique, les différentes théories littéraires, les sciences pédagogiques et didactiques, l’interprétariat, la traductologie et le traitement automatique des langues. La revue publie des numéros thématiques, des numéros varia et des numéros spéciaux. Elle figure dans le fichier national des revues scientifiques édité par le Ministère algérien de l’enseignement supérieur et de la recherche scientifique (MESRS), et sur sa plateforme Algerian scientific journal platform (ASJP), administrée par le CERIST.

Time, Space, and Power in Qualitative Research on the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Region and Europe

Since the start of the 21^stcentury seemingly unpredictable change, in all its different guises, has fueled the preoccupations of academic and non-academic publics. The financial crisis, the “Arab Spring”, protest movements in southern Europe, the rise of Daesh and right-wing populism, as well as the environmental crisis all make it very difficult to rely on Francis Fukuyama’s theory of “end of history”, which now seems to merely reflect the euphoria of liberal elites following the collapse of the Soviet Union (1992). This workshop intends to reflect more closely on the webs of power affecting both the researcher and‚ the researched when they intend to represent change.

Les combinaisons les plus réussies de la coopération sont celles où différents acteurs du terrain peuvent susciter et stimuler un « vivre ensemble » de leurs savoirs, leurs savoirs faire et leur créativité. Au-delà des compétences sectorielles liées à l’innovation, dont l’enseignement supérieur est traditionnellement dépositaire, les universités technologiques ont donc besoin de comprendre et d’enseigner des savoirs culturels et sociaux et reconsidérer les apports des disciplines connexes (géographie, histoire, sociologie, anthropologie mais aussi littérature et arts) dans leurs multiples expressions de lien (oralités, écritures, images & sons).

Work in progress on North Africa - from Antiquity to the present day

Ces dernières années, les recherches sur l’Afrique du Nord ont fait l’objet d’un dynamisme certain, toutes périodes historiques confondues. Le nombre d’études en cours, la variété des sujets et la diversité des approches sont importants et porteurs de renouvellements historiographiques. Malgré ce mouvement général, force est de constater une tendance au maintien des césures chronologiques classiques des grandes périodes historiques dans les sujets de recherche et dans les évènements scientifiques eux-mêmes. Partant de ce constat, l’université de Rouen et le Groupe de recherche histoire organisent le 22 mars 2017 une journée d’étude dont la finalité est la rencontre entre jeunes chercheurs de toutes périodes dont les travaux en cours portent sur l’Afrique du Nord.

Dans une Afrique qui fait face à nombre de problèmes et qui cherche ses marques dans un monde dominé par la loi du plus fort, c’est-à-dire des plus riches, les pensées de Cheikh Anta Diop, Frantz Fanon et Jean-Marc Ela semblent importantes et méritent encore plus d’attention. Même si beaucoup a été enseigné et écrit à propos d’eux, il reste cependant qu’ils méritent toujours d’être relus et d’attirer l’attention compte tenu de la richesse du corpus scientifique qu’ils ont élaboré et qui sont toujours d’un grand intérêt pour l’Afrique contemporaine. Lus entre les lignes, leurs travaux ne peuvent-ils pas inspirer et servir à l’élaboration d’un modèle de développement plus adapté aux réalités africaines ?
