The workshop will focus on the #dariahTeach platform, which was created through the funding of an ERASMUS+ strategic partnership to test modules for open-source, high-quality, multilingual teaching materials for the digital arts and humanities.

Multilinguales est une revue scientifique, annuelle, de langue française, mais elle est ouverte à la réflexion sur toutes les langues. Elle ambitionne de contribuer aux investigations scientifiques dans des disciplines telles que la linguistique, la sociolinguistique, l’ethnolinguistique, la psycholinguistique, les différentes théories littéraires, les sciences pédagogiques et didactiques, l’interprétariat, la traductologie et le traitement automatique des langues. La revue publie des numéros thématiques, des numéros varia et des numéros spéciaux. Elle figure dans le fichier national des revues scientifiques édité par le Ministère algérien de l’enseignement supérieur et de la recherche scientifique (MESRS), et sur sa plateforme Algerian scientific journal platform (ASJP), administrée par le CERIST.

Comment ces périodiques, parfois de grande diffusion, ont-ils nourri la production littéraire africaine, à travers des références et des débats intellectuels propres, la place du divertissement, de certaines rubriques et de formes littéraires courtes (poésie, conte), ou les interventions d’écrivain-e-s journalistes ou pigistes ?

An International Symposium
A symposium, New Directions for Libraries, Scholars, and Partnerships, will take place on Friday, October 13, 2017, at the German National Library during the Frankfurt Book Fair. The Symposium is sponsored by the Collaborative Initiative for French Language Collections (CIFNAL) and the German-North American Resources Partnership (GNARP), both working projects of the Center for Research Libraries (Chicago, USA), with support from the German National Library and other French, German, and international partners. Session topics include: collections and collaboration; digital scholarship; the publishing revolution; new dimensions of service to scholars and students; and new strategies for services and partnerships.

This afternoon event in Bath (United Kingdom) is aimed at postgraduate students and early career academics interested in Chinese art, whether as a career or as a source for their research. The afternoon will start with a visit to the Museum of East Asian Art Bath. Then three leading professionals in Chinese art in the United Kingdom will give a talk and questions/answers. A workshop will then invite participants to reflect on and prepare for a career related to the arts of China.

This featured section of History in Africa will address the wave of digitisation of archives in Africa over the last fifteen years. With the rise of information technologies, an increasing part of public – and to some extent private - African archives are being digitised and made accessible on the internet. This wave of digitisation is usually seen as a progress with the help of ambitious initiatives applying new technologies to cultural heritage of humanity such as the rescue of the manuscripts of Timbuktu or the Endangered Archives programme at the British Library. Yet as much as these new technologies raise enthusiasm, they also prompt discussions amongst researchers and archivists, which go from intellectual property to sovereignty and governance.

Epigraphy and history of Ancient and Medieval Jordan
Par leur abondance, leur diversité et leur fragilité, les inscriptions antiques et médiévales de la Jordanie constituent un patrimoine aussi précieux que menacé. Sans elles, des pans entiers de l’histoire du pays resteraient méconnus. Trop souvent, elles sont pourtant étudiées de façon cloisonnée, en fonction des intérêts historiques et des compétences linguistiques des chercheurs. Le colloque de Lyon fournira l’occasion de faire dialoguer les historiens de l’Antiquité et du Moyen Âge, ainsi que des épigraphistes hellénisants et latinisants avec des spécialistes des langues sémitiques transcrites sur la pierre entre la conquête du Proche-Orient par Alexandre le Grand et les premiers siècles de l’islam.

Enjeux et méthodes
Le but de cette journée d’étude est de réunir des historiens spécialistes de correspondances, de cartographie ancienne ou d’humanités numériques afin de réfléchir sur les expériences en cours et de confronter leurs pratiques. On s’intéressera aux solutions techniques innovantes retenues dans des études de cas qui seront exposées, mais aussi aux réflexions critiques sur ces modélisations : comment ne pas tomber dans les pièges tendus par des représentations qui risquent d’être d’autant plus illusoires qu’elles se fondent sur des effets d’image puissants et des avalanches de données ? Peut-on dégager quelques grandes règles qu’il convient d’observer pour préserver une pleine validité scientifique aux modèles expérimentés ? Comment traiter également le fait que la plupart des corpus historiques comportent des lacunes ou des incertitudes parfois considérables, et posent souvent des difficultés d’identification des lieux géographiques ?

The launch ceremony will available via a live stream from the Lausanne campus (CH). #dariahTeach is an open source, extensible, online multilingual, community-driven platform for high quality teaching and training materials for the digital humanities specifically tailored for third-level education.

La preservación digital es un tema que atañe a bibliotecas, archivos, museos y galerías y que hasta ahora se ha trabajado de forma aislada. Se han buscado soluciones parciales y fragmentarias, sin embargo, cada vez es más evidente la necesidad de emprender proyectos de colaboración para crear estrategias, investigaciones y plataformas digitales que sean comunes para colecciones librarias, impresas, sonoras, audiovisuales y fotográficas. No es posible seguir manteniendo silos digitales, es necesario que las instituciones de la memoria se comuniquen y diseñen las estrategias a través de las cuales se garantice la permanencia de los contenidos a largo plazo. Bajo estas consideraciones se llevará a cabo el II congreso internacional de archivos digitales. Conectando los saberes de bibliotecas, archivos, museos y galerías para la preservación digital.

As a follow-up to the realizations from a previous scientific symposium on the “Old Book — Cultural-Historical and Scientific Source” (Osijek, October 25 and 26, 2013) and the second interdisciplinary scientific symposium with international participation titled “Literary Heritage Nowadays” (Osijek, November 6 and 7, 2015), by virtue of this conference the organizers would like to facilitate their in-depth analysis and upgrade while especially providing their contribution to a continued study of the opus of the Franciscan esthetician, philosophical-theological writer, Latinist, historian and translator Emerik (Mirko) Pavić (1716 – 1780), whose selected works were dispatched to be digitized within the aforementioned project, on the occasion of his 300th birth anniversary.
