  L’Antiquité tardive fut une période caractérisée par de grands changements aux niveaux culturel et politique, tels la conquête germanique et la transformation de Byzance en une société militarisée et christianisée. En outre, au début du V^e siècle le monde romain fut marqué par les grandes migrations de ce que l’on appelle les sociétés du barbaricum. Acceptant l’héritage romain à partir de la chute de l’Empire d’Occident, ces peuples construisaient de nouvelles entités politiques en se basant notamment sur les structures romaines précédentes.

  Young researchers looking at ancient and medieval Burgundy

  Ce cycle de dix conférences a pour but de valoriser et diffuser les travaux de jeunes chercheurs sur l’histoire, l’archéologie et l’histoire de l’art de la Bourgogne antique et médiévale. Il s’agit de présenter et mettre en avant les sources d’archives à partir desquelles travaille le jeune chercheur, ainsi que la manière dont il élabore le raisonnement scientifique lui permettant d’aboutir aux résultats de ses investigations. L’objectif est aussi de montrer l’articulation, en fonction des sujets, entre les sources conservées aux archives départementales de la Côte d’Or et les différents dépôts municipaux, tant archives que bibliothèques.

  Cultural transformations in Norman medieval worlds (8th-12th century) - objects, actors and mediators

  Many objects can be subject to cultural transfers and their study is particularly important in order to understand the Norman worlds at the frontiers of Christianity, such as in the Scandinavian world, Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean Sea. This conference will also be the occasion to reflecton the organisation of our current understanding by examining the relevance of analytical frameworks according to the categories of objects (material and immaterial), their capacity or ability to undergo transformations or their mobility. Finally, the conference will examine the role and involvement of the actors of cultural transfers depending on their status or function, but also on their ability to initiate or promote a transfer.
