    Das DHIP sucht zum 1. März 2019 oder nach Vereinbarung zwei wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter/innen (24 Std./Woche). Die Stelle erlaubt die Konzeption und Durchführung oder den Abschluss eines geschichtswissenschaftlichen Promotionsprojekts, das sich an den Schwerpunkten des DHIP orientieren soll, aber im Übrigen inhaltlich frei formuliert werden kann. Neben der individuellen Forschungstätigkeit werden die Mitarbeiter/innen im Umfang von 12 Stunden pro Woche in den Redaktionen des DHIP mitarbeiten.

    Values of Cultural Assets and Provenance

    Dealing with and valuing cultural assets is a key challenge of our time, which concerns historical, legal, ethical, aesthetic and political aspects. The European Commission has declared 2018 to be the European Heritage Year. In the summer semester of 2018, the Ludwig Maximilians Universität München, in cooperation with the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Art, established a junior professorship for "Values of Cultural Assets and Provenance Research" at the Institute for Art History of the LMU Munich.

    Criticisms of democracy, authoritarianism and populism in Europe

    Continuities and disruptions from the inter-war period until today

    Facing the feeling of »crisis« of democracy arising in recent years and symbolized by the rise of populist movements, there is a recurrent comparison with the inter-war situation in today’s political debate in many European countries. Is this comparison relevant to understand the specific democratic practices during both periods? Building on this question, the workshop serves as kick-off for the research program Which democracy/democracies? Reflections on the crisis, modernization and limits of democracy in Germany, France, England and Central Europe between 1919 and 1939 supported by the Centre interdisciplinaire d’études et de recherches sur l’Allemagne (CIERA).
