  Postes de doctorant·e·s pour le projet de recherche “Gangs, Gangsters, and Ganglands: Towards a Global Comparative Ethnography” (GANGS)

  The project “Gangs, Gangsters, and Ganglands: Towards a Global Comparative Ethnography” (GANGS) aims to develop a systematic comparative investigation of global gang dynamics, to better understand why they emerge, how they evolve over time, whether they are associated with particular urban configurations, how and why individuals join gangs, and what impact this has on their potential futures. It draws on ethnographic research carried out in Nicaragua, South Africa, and France, adopting an explicitly tripartite focus on “Gangs”, “Gangsters”, and “Ganglands” in order to better explore the interplay between group, individual, and contextual factors. The first will consider the organisational dynamics of gangs, the second will focus on individual gang members and their trajectories before, during, and after their involvement in a gang, while the third will reflect on the contexts within which gangs emerge and evolve.

  Neuvième édition annuelle du CAAS (Consortium for Asian and African studies)

  Découvrir, analyser et confronter les recherches en cours sur une question cruciale à l’heure de la mondialisation, mais aussi de l’émergence nouvelle des nationalismes dans plusieurs régions du monde. Ce colloque sera animé par des enseignants-chercheurs et des doctorants venant de onze universités du monde entier.

  Municipalisation et gestion urbaine au Mozambique

  Le Mozambique est encore très largement géré par l'administration de l'État central: il n'y a que 58 municipalités, toutes urbaines. La questionne est donc très politique, puisque toute avancée de la municipalisation permet à l'opposition d'acquérir plus de poids, même si le parti au pouvoir garde le contrôle sur la majorité d'entre elles. Ce colloque international aura lieu une dizaine de jours après la tenue des élections municipales d'octobre 2018, qui seront un test grandeur nature pour les élections présidentielles et législatives de l'année suivante...

  Connecting Mediterranean and Atlantic History

  2nd meeting of the Atlantic Italies Network

  The Atlantic Italies Network – a developing network of scholars working on economic entanglements and related cultural phenomena that emerged between Italian-speaking territories and the Atlantic world from the fifteenth to the nineteenth century – aims at examining connections related to European states without colonies as well as their links to sub-Saharan Africa and the Americas and at contributing to current attempts to analyse early modern Italian territories in their global contexts. The second meeting of the network will particularly appreciate papers involving economic dimensions related to shipping, trade and economic interconnections, but we welcome all proposals contributing to our overall perspective.

  La responsabilité sociétale des organisations et des entreprises en Afrique francophone

  Considérant, d'une part, le village global actuel en construction dans lequel sont appelés à interagir plusieurs parties prenantes vers la concrétisation d'un destin commun et, d'autre part, le souci de préservation des ressources locales, il émerge la nécessité d'une implémentation plus concrète du principe d'intégration. Les Objectifs de développement durable (ODD) furent ainsi adoptés avec comme objectif, d'ici 2030, d'éliminer la pauvreté sous toutes ses formes par a promotion d'une industrialisation durable qui profite à tous et encourage l'innovation et la recherche et d'encourager les grandes entreprises et les sociétés transnationales à adopter et intégrer des pratiques viables.
