  Recruitment of members for the Ecole française de Rome for 2019-2020

  L’École française de Rome recrute des membres des membres scientifiques qui se consacrent à des travaux de recherche dans les domaines relevant de l'établissement, en histoire, archéologie et sciences sociales, répartis en trois sections : l'Antiquité, le Moyen Âge, les Époques moderne et contemporaine. Le projet peut émaner de candidats en fin de doctorat ou entamant une recherche post-doctorale. En conformité avec la mission de formation à la recherche de l’EFR, la commission d’admission examine avec une attention particulière les dossiers émanant de chercheurs en début de carrière. Pour l’année 2019-2020, dix-huit postes de membres de l’École française de Rome seront vacants ou susceptibles d’être vacants.

  The sources of international relations between the political centres of Europe and the Mediterranean (800–1600)

  The 15^th International Congress of Diplomatics organized by the Commission internationale de diplomatique, which is being held between the 4th and 6th of October at Leipzig, studies the diplomatic characteristics of medieval and early modern charters and the related documentation being used in “international” and interreligious diplomacy. The main objective of the conference is to analyse the "international" and interreligious repertoire of types and forms of the documents as well as their regional specific characteristics. Special attention will be dedicated to the different stages of tradition and the consequences for historical interpretation focussing on the internal and external characteristics of the diplomatic documentation.
