  2018 General Assembly of the "Virtual Humanist Libraries" research program

  Nous avons le plaisir de vous convier à l’assemblée générale 2018 du programme de recherche « Bibliothèques Virtuelles Humanistes » (CESR, Tours). L’année 2018 aura particulièrement été marquée par les premières mises en ligne des ouvrages numérisés dans le cadre du projet partenarial « Bibliothèques humanistes ligériennes », tandis que la seconde campagne se tient en ce moment même. Plusieurs publications significatives ont également ponctué l’année. Cette assemblée générale sera ainsi l’occasion de vous présenter tant les avancées des projets en cours que les perspectives du programme de recherche BVH.

  Call for papers - Middle Ages

  Text as object in the Middle Ages

  The International Medieval Congress (IMC) is the largest medieval studies conference in the world. In line with the Special Thematic Strand in 2019 “Materialities” and the recent creation of the strand “Manuscript studies”, we organize sessions on “Text as object in the Middle Ages”. Texts, indeed, are at the same time an idea and a form. The latter is the result of a combination of inherited social uses and specific intentions by the various actors involved in transmitting the text as idea. This process begins with the authors, continues to the craftsmen (parchment and paper makers, copyists and chancery clerks, painters and illuminators, sculptors and weavers, booksellers…) and then on to possessors, readers, archives and libraries. All textual artefacts are concerned: manuscripts, charters, inscriptions, tapestries, seals, coins, etc.

  Initiation in XML-TEI coding in heritage texts

  L’équipe « Bibliothèques virtuelles humanistes » du Centre d'études supérieures sur la Renaissance (CESR) de Tours organise une session de formation à l’encodage XML-TEI dans le cadre de l’option Humanités numériques du master « Patrimoine écrit et édition numérique ». La formation se tiendra sur trois journées. Ce stage est ouvert et gratuit, sur inscription préalable, pour les étudiants de l'université de Tours et d’autres établissements, dans la limite des places disponibles.
