  El Conde Ansúrez y su época

  En 2018 on commémore le IX^e centenaire de la mort du comte Don Pedro Ansúrez, celui qui repeupla la ville de Valladolid et figure marquante de la politique ibérique à la fin du XI^e siècle. À l'occasion de cet anniversaire l'Instituto Universitario de Historia Simancas invite les spécialistes à participer au congrès international sur la vie et l’époque du compte Ansúrez. La réunion scientifique se réalisera les jours 21-23 février à la faculté de philosophie et lettres de l'université de Valladolid.

  Epidemics, History and the Environment: Crossing Academic Boundaries

  European Society for Environmental History 10th Biennial Conference (2019)

  This panel - epidemics, climate and history – for the European Society for Environmental History 10th Biennial Conference in Tallinn (2019) aims to explore specific climatic/environmental and institutional factors that shaped both the way in which plagues lato sensu and other epidemics, including cholera, yellow fever, typhus, typhoid fever, leprosy, syphilis, etc., originated and spread as well as the consecutive significant demographic and socio-economic consequences at a local or regional scale throughout history (without geographical limitation). A particular attention will be given to original interdisciplinary approaches linking natural proxy archives and written documentary sources.

  Mendicants on the margins

  A one-day symposium on the theme of “Mendicants on the Margins” will take place at University College Cork on the 27 June 2018. It is organised as part of the IRC-funded project “Spiritual Infrastructure, Space and Society: The Augustinian Friars in Late Medieval Ireland”. Speakers from Ireland and abroad will tackle a variety of aspects relating to the geenral theme on Mendicants on the Margins, from mendicant orders in geographical margins, the lesser-known orders such as the Augustinian friars, female communities and the Franciscan Third Order, to mendicant communities on the margins of the traditional model of urban mendicancy, such as foundations in non-urban environments, and aspects of mendicant studies challenging the traditional historiography of mendicant orders.

  Ideological, political and social issues

  Ce colloque arrive à un moment où les travaux sur les processus et techniques de la surveillance ont permis l’accumulation de très nombreuses connaissances. Il propose donc d’envisager la surveillance moins comme le résultat plus ou moins opératoire de mise en œuvre de techniques, que comme un fait social revendiqué, critiqué, rejeté par des acteurs divers. La surveillance sera donc examinée du point de vue des légitimations, des appropriations et des contestations. La perception qu’ont les individus et les groupes sociaux de la surveillance, qu’elle soit réelle, imaginée ou imaginaire sera de même au cœur des travaux présentés.

  Festival « Histoire et cité »

  Pour sa troisième édition, Histoire et cité a choisi d’explorer le thème « Être libre ». Des luttes de libérations nationales à la révolte des esclaves, la liberté est un combat. Elle a notamment mobilisé les femmes pour conquérir leurs droits civiques et continue de les inspirer pour échapper aux carcans du patriarcat. Par ailleurs, notre programme réserve une place particulière aux mouvements de 1968, cinquante ans après. De Spartacus à Martin Luther King, du reggae à l’indépendance de la presse, de l’exode biblique aux séries TV, goûtez à la liberté !
