  The contemporary practices of oral history

  From interview to oral archives

  Face au dynamisme de l’oral history à l’international, l’invisibilisation de l’« histoire orale » en France pose question. Les pratiques historiennes de l’entretien font, aujourd’hui encore, l’objet de relativement peu de discussions dans le paysage universitaire français. Plus nombreux qu’on ne le pense sont pourtant les travaux d’historiens associant une démarche d’enquête orale à l’exploitation des archives écrites. Si l’histoire orale demeure principalement investie par l’histoire sociale, l’histoire des institutions, et l’histoire des conflits et traumatismes collectifs, le recours aux entretiens touche désormais des champs de plus en plus variés.

  The Mouseion Journal of the Museum and La Salle Historic Archive

  This dossier aims to disseminate research findings focused on challenges of cultural policies and critical perspectives addressing key cultural issues facing cities and territories today from a comparative point of view. We aim to find out how and if cultural policies are consistent in promoting cultural diversity and social inclusion. The contributors are also invited to offer new theoretical perspectives on cultural policy and to provide for examples of cities and territories that achieved their goals in terms of promotion of cultural diversity and social developement.

  The workshop intends to answer these following questions: How do cultural practices produce new uses of public urban space? Do they succeed in reinventing the idea of the common or on the contrary do they produce new forms of stigmatization? The organizers of the workshop also wish to raise a comparative debate on social sciences studies done in Latin America and in North America on the topic of culture and cities.

  Le centre commercial est souvent désigné aujourd'hui comme un équipement créant de la « désurbanisation » ou associé aux « non-lieux » (Augé 1992), il apparaît comme un des « objet » urbain visible d'une mondialisation financière détruisant les paysages locaux pour produire un paysage standard. Ainsi, à bien des égards, le centre commercial semble surgir, faire irruption dans un paysage familier, voire quotidien, et bouleverse son ordonnacement. Cependant, il ne peut s'établir et connaître un certain succès que dans un paysage urbain, social et culturel en mouvement. Il s'insère peu à peu dans un environnement qui se restructure, il n'en est pas la seule composante mais il en est un marqueur.
