  Les dynamiques d'extrémisation en pensées et en actions

  Depuis les attentats de janvier 2015, la radicalisation djihadiste a été mise à l’agenda scientifique et politique en France. S’impose aujourd’hui la recherche d’éclairages pertinents sur un phénomène dont l’Histoire a montré le potentiel mortifère et contaminateur. Cette radicalisation s’inscrit dans un contexte plus large de développement de dynamiques d’extrémisations diverses, religieuses et politiques en particulier, avec leur cortège d’exclusions et de violences multiples, en particulier racistes, antisémites et xénophobes. Ce cycle de conférences proposé conjointement par la Fondation du Camp des Milles et l’Institut méditerranéen d’études avancées propose de contribuer à la réflexion sur ce sujet par une confrontation des analyses et par le débat entre chercheurs et citoyens.

  “Aconchiar el mundo y reformar la Yglesia". Charles V and the religion

  "Riforma e Movimenti Religiosi" Journal n°6 (December 2019)

  In the 500^th anniversary of the imperial election of Charles V, the journal Riforma e Movimenti Religiosi intends to set up a monographic issue dedicated to one of the events that symbolically mark a rupture in European history, both for the confluence of boundless dominions under the Habsburg crown with its expansion on new seas and new continents and for the onset of the Protestant Reformation. These transformations gave rise to unprecedented links between politics and religion and "long term" consequences in the history of the old continent, destined to survive until today. It was then that myths of the past still alive, such as the authority of the imperial crown and the papal tiara as supreme guardians of the European Christianitas against the expansionism of the Ottoman empire, came to their final decline between bitter mutual conflicts.

  Les « archives juives », miroir du rapport des juifs à l'État et à la nation

  Dans le cadre de la thématique générale « Universalités et particularités en monde juif » du programme « Judaïsmes contemporains » du groupe « Sociétés, religions, laïcité » (GSRL), cette journée d'études analysera les processus de constitution d'« archives juives » comme miroir du rapport des juifs à l'État et à la nation. En quoi la conception d'« archives juives », séparées ou au contraire intégrées aux patrimoines écrits nationaux, reflète-elle les diverses formes de l'intégration des juifs aux États-nations aux XIX^e et XX^e siècles ? Les différentes contributions permettront d'explorer la place des juifs dans les récits nationaux à travers la place accordée par les institutions des différents États-nations concernés au patrimoine écrit de leurs minorités juives.

  Intercultural exchange in the age of globalization, second edition

  In the context of today’s social, political and economic changes, power is one of the governing principles of culture. Power comes in many shapes and sizes and it manifests itself under various forms: it can be tyrannical or a combination of forces (Foucault); it can be charismatic, traditional and rational (Weber) or the opposite – manipulative; it can also appear as a system of diluted forces that spring from the “social field” (Bourdieu); it can remain in the unconscious or it can manifest itself in the speech act. However it may appear, it has become clear that power shapes the course of the creation, interpretation and analysis of literary texts and other cultural products.

  En février 2016, le Collège des Bernardins avait organisé en partenariat avec iReMMO un important colloque sur la situation du monde arabe « entre rupture et renaissance ? ». Aujourd’hui, le risque de la rupture semble l’emporter sur les perspectives d’une renaissance. Les profonds bouleversements qui traversent le Proche et le Moyen-Orient ont crée une situation extrêmement complexe dans laquelle la déliquescence de certains États a atteint un point critique peut être irréversible. Il faut reposer la question suivante : les États actuels vont-ils pouvoir prendre en compte leur pluralité religieuse, ethnique, sociétale, ou allons-nous vers une recomposition à terme de cette région à partir d'une faillite irréversible des États ?

  Les effets de la première guerre mondiale sur les églises chrétiennes

  11 November 1918 saw the end of the First World War, known at the time as the “Great War” (1914-1918) for its global scale, extreme destructivity and unseen casualty rates. On the one hand, wars evoke heroism and patriotism and bring people and groups to alter their mental boundaries and abilities. On the other hand, wars also elicit hatred, envy and violent behaviour, the settling of hidden accounts, the abandonment of ethical standards, and deep divisions and confrontations between families and societies. Since effects of the first world conflict were enormous and the shock waves were felt for years and generations to come, the question arises about the impact of the Great War on religion and the established churches.

  Paix et religion, du Moyen Âge à l'époque contemporaine

  Les religions sont souvent et en particulier dans notre monde contemporain, associées à la guerre, qu’elles la suscitent ou l’entretiennent. Or, paradoxalement, elles tiennent majoritairement un discours de paix. L’année 2018 et la commémoration de la paix qui mit fin à la Grande Guerre nous a semblé le moment opportun pour s’interroger sur les liens complexes que les religions entretiennent avec la paix, au niveau des discours comme des actions concrètes.

  European academy of religion

  The European Academy of Religion (EuARe) is a new organism in European scholarship which was established in 2016 with the support of the European parliament and many more institutions. EuARe aims to create a new, inclusive network, able to act as an open platform and to provide a framework to foster research, communication, exchange and cooperation concerning important religious issues for the academic world and society at large. The program of the EuARe Conference 2018 will be composed of both plenary (lectiones magistrales and roundtables) and working sessions (panels and papers).
