Comment analyser les nationalismes économiques du courant du XXIe siècle ? Quel lien peut-on faire entre le nationalisme économique et la transformation de la politique étrangère des États ? Comment comprendre la réticence anglaise à la poursuite d’une coopération économique régionale au sein de l’Union européenne (UE) à travers l’opération BREXIT d’une part, et l’ambition chinoise d’étendre les domaines et les géographies de sa coopération économique, à travers notamment la réactivation des routes de la soie, d’autre part ? Pourquoi certains États ou gouvernements préfèrent restreindre les domaines de leurs coopérations internationales, alors que d’autres cherchent plutôt à les étendre ?

The Illuminated Legal Manuscript: Production, Circulation and Use in Medieval Europe
International Workshop of the research team Ius Illuminatum
The workshop has the aim of giving an overview of the progress of research regarding illuminated legal manuscripts in Europe with the aim of carrying out a reflection on the methodological implications and on the practical and theoretical challenges that such research entails. During the Workshop, different case of study related to some regions of the European territory will be analyzed with a particular attention to what concerns the production, use and circulation of the different manuscripts examined. The Workshop also aims to question the potential offered by new technologies and the interdisciplinary approach in the study of the illuminated legal manuscript in order to overcome the limits and open up innovative and fruitful research paths.

No pensamento social contemporâneo e no movimento operário internacional, a ideia de comunismo e a grande esperança trazida pela revolução russa de 1917 singrou, enquanto utopia e enquanto praxis política, entre acesas querelas e infindas polémicas, semeando dissensões, guerras verbais, sectarismos profundos e irreconciliáveis diferenciações. Diferentes modelos societais, concepções organizativas, culturas políticas desenvolveram-se como ramos distintos de uma árvore de um tronco comum, autonomizando-se e cristalizando.

The international conference Breaking Boundaries: Academia, Activism and the Arts proposes to bring into focus and critically question common grounds and boundaries between and within the Humanities, political activity and aesthetic production.At a time when boundaries are simultaneously questioned and reinforced – for example between geographical territories, political states, public and private spheres, gendered bodies, creative media, theory and practice, local and global, human, non-human and post-human – the question of what such frontiers stand for, and how and why they might be transgressed offers itself for and, indeed, urges discussion.

Construction de l’État, mouvements sociaux et économie politique
La modernité a été marquée par la construction d’appareils de l’État devenus de plus en plus complexes et sophistiqués. Ces appareils se sont employés à gouverner des territoires et des populations à travers de multiples réseaux administratifs, fiscaux, policiers et judiciaires. En même temps, de nouveaux mécanismes de légitimation du pouvoir politique ont vu le jour à partir d’une sphère publique et de la dissémination des différentes modalités d’organisation et de mobilisation collective comme associations, pétitions, manifestations, grèves et émeutes.

Second edition
Up to a certain point, the way we move to cities is the way we live cities. We choose our transportation based on the time, the safety of the way etc. From home to work or to the school, from work to a leisure activity, to visit a friend, regardless of where we are going, we always think about the best way to commute and get there. However, getting around the city is not a democratic act, yet. Living in the periphery is not the same as living in the city center, and such a distinction implies the time of travel, the costs and the supply of the types of transportation that we will have access to. On the other hand, and simultaneously, new forms of mobility emerge every day that are not always consensual in the urban context where they arise.
