Geoarchaeology and archaeology of the city of Cádiz, Spain
This workshop-seminar organised in Strasbourg will be focusing on the archaeology and geoarchaeology of Cádiz. New sedimentary cores drilled in a marine palaeochannel crossing the city in Antiquity will be discussed. Researchers from the University of Cádiz, the CNRS, the ENGEES, and the University of Strasbourg will be present.

Attachment to territory? Reflections and current struggles
Réflexions et luttes actuelles
Le colloque se propose de revenir sur les logiques parfois contradictoires de valorisation des territoires, d’en problématiser les ambivalences conceptuelles et d’identifier les différentes stratégies et usages constitutifs de ses orientations politiques. Dans ce champ actuel foisonnant, on privilégiera trois axes de recherche : 1) la problématisation des concepts d’attachement et de territoire en tant qu’ils sont actuellement retravaillés en philosophie et en sciences sociales ; 2) l’interrogation sur les nouvelles formes d’attachement des communautés à des territoires en « transition » ou à des territoires occupés comme les ZAD ; 3) l’étude des conflits urbains et écologiques à Liège et à Bruxelles, avec la participation des acteurs sociaux impliqués dans ces mouvements.

Définir l’Italie comme laboratoire suppose d’analyser les contextes de fabrication des politiques urbaines aussi bien que les expériences de projet, les théories comme les pratiques, les héritages et les mutations tout autant que les orientations et les prospectives. En quelques mots, construire un savoir et une culture, mais encore tirer des enseignements et développer des outils opératoires pour appréhender le présent et enrichir les pratiques contemporaines.

From the individual to the collective
The objective of this Seminar is to stress the importance of a collaborative and participative way to understand through our senses. We want to explore connections between thinking and action in everyday city experiences, developing “in situ” actions. We consider that the knowledge of the space need space experiences. We aim to develop a collective, community exploration of the vital flow of the Lavapiés area in Madrid altering the classical relationship between artist, landscape and inhabitants. This exploration will allow the construction of an intangible map of audiovisual fragments, photo, phonographs, video art, performative actions. The direct experimentation of space helps us understand it, as well as "to perform it"; it helps us understand the aesthetic and emotional relationships we have with it. In order to get our objectives, urban artists, soundscape experts, theater groups, architects, philosopher, civil and social associations, citizens…will be invited.

C’est pourquoi ce seminaire abordera les pensées de la nature, la notion de vie dans la pensée européenne et japonaise, et comment ces notions prennent forme, circulent, sont adaptées et participent des transformations sociales.

International Francophone study days of urban agriculture
Depuis plusieurs années au niveau français et international, l’agriculture urbaine reçoit un nouvel engouement de la part des citoyens, des acteurs publics, du monde socio-économique. En effet, l’agriculture urbaine sous toutes ses formes (sur le toits des immeubles, fermes hightech indoor, potagers en pied d’immeuble, etc.) développe de nombreuses fonctions positives : amélioration de l’aménagement urbain, création de liens sociaux, développement économique, sécurité alimentaire, protection de l’environnement, prévention et préservation de la santé humaine, éducation à une meilleure alimentation, offre de loisirs diversifiés.

Comment l’arrivée de nouveaux objets modifient-ils les perspectives en matière d’énonciation, de conception et de gestion de la ville ? Participent-ils d’une façon renouvelée de concevoir la fabrique urbaine ? De nouveaux objets pointent-ils vers de nouveaux usages ? Infléchissent-ils les pratiques ? Comment mobilisent-ils des sources de financement, favorisant leur mise en œuvre (à l’instar des subventions accompagnant la mise en œuvre des tramways dans la période 1990/2000 en France) ?

Urban wastelands: a form of urban nature?
This symposium addresses the scientific community and practitioners. It will deal in particular with totally or partially vegetated urban wastelands, and proposes to question the roles played by wastelands in the green infrastructure, and in particular the differences with other urban green spaces. We can wonder whether brownfields can be considered as informal green spaces and to what extent they can help to change the current perception of urban nature. Three aspects will be considered, linked to three major issues: social, ecological and urban planning stakes : 1) Urban wastelands and residents: informal uses and perceptions ; 2) Urban wastelands: biodiversity hotspots in cities? ; 3) Urban wastelands and urban evolution: land and planning issues.

Teaching experience and research issues in the area of city, territory and landscape
Nombreuses sont les acceptions du mot « territoire », et variées sont les lignes que les usages du mot dessinent entre les aspects physiques, administratifs et humains. Avec la notion de « territoire » viennent celles de « frontière », de « limite », de « propriété », de « revendication », d’« enracinement », de « topographie » et de « climat » mais aussi celles d’une communauté de destins, d’outils, de ressources. Concrètement, l'analyse des territoires renvoie aussi aux questions de centralité et de périphéries, de réseaux et de mobilités. Autant de paramètres et phénomènes que l’enseignement du projet en architecture ou en paysage doit aborder pour permettre d’intervenir dans les territoires urbains, péri-urbains ou ruraux.
