  1989’s contested legacies

  The challenging of ideological, institutional and (geo)political heritage

  This conference aims at rethinking the legacy of 1989 in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) through the prism of its ongoing contestations, with a focus on the current trends and deliberate political efforts that challenge the major achievements of Velvet Revolutions as well as the outcomes of the collapse of the Iron Curtain. 1989 launched a process that continues to this day. Three decades of transformations, crises and setbacks have noticeably changed the shape of Central and Eastern European societies.

  Getting the Houses in Order: agenda-setting, policy-making, and legislating in the House of Lords

  Twenty years after the 1999 Reform Act was passed, this one-day conference will study the evolutions and transformations of the legislative and political abilities of the House of Lords in the British parliamentary system. Organised jointly by the MIMMOC (Université de Poitiers) and the CECILLE (Université de Lille), the conference will also adopt a comparative approach and we welcome submissions focused on the upper chambers of different countries.

  IX Jornadas Filológicas

  Las IX Jornadas Filológicas son organizadas por tres universidades establecidas en la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia. Se trata del principal evento de estudios clásicos en nuestro país, el cual, sin embargo, ha contado siempre con invitados internacionales reconocidos por su contribución al desarrollo de este campo disciplinar. Esta novena edición de las Jornadas estará dedicada al tema de la migración y la ciudadanía en el mundo antiguo y tendrá como propósito último establecer paralelos fructíferos y formular propuestas aplicables a las problemáticas actuales suscitadas a partir de los flujos migratorios y las políticas que toman los Estados para enfrentarlos.

  Vision and revision of the Constitution

  La conférence / débat co-organisée par l'Association des étudiants publicistes et l'Institut d'études de droit public de l'université Paris-sud, intitulée « Vision et révision de la Constitution », a pour ambition d'interroger les enjeux et les mécanismes qui permettent d'adapter la norme suprême aux réalités contemporaines lorsque c'est nécessaire. Une mise en perspective des précédentes révisions constitutionnelles de la V^e République sera effectuée par Didier Maus (conseiller d'État), tandis qu'Éric Thiers (Conseiller spécial auprès de la ministre de Justice) présentera l'esprit de la future réforme constitutionnelle envisagée par le gouvernement et le Président de la République. Laurent Fonbaustier (professeur de droit public à l'université Paris-sud) se focalisera plus précisément sur la question de la constitutionnalisation du droit de l'environnement.
