Le colloque L’État des économistes. La science économique face à la puissance publique (XXe-XXIe siècles) se tiendra à Amiens les 21 et 22 novembre prochains, au Logis du Roy, square Jules Bocquet (près du Palais de justice). Il est organisé avec le soutien de l’université de Picardie Jules Verne, de la région Hauts-de-France, du CURAPP-ESS, du CRESPPA LabTop, du LEST, du RT 27 (Sociologie des intellectuels et de l’expertise) et du RT 42 (Sociologie des élites) de l’Association française de sociologie.

The financing of sectorial policies run by the State
From the budgetary calculations to the implementation of expense
The Research Group on Budgetary Matters (GRAB - 19th-21st centuries) has launched a call for papers in order to stimulate research on the financing of state-led sectoral policies, while offering interested researchers a space for discussion and exchange on their work. The seminar sessions thus scheduled, from May 2020 to December 2021, will alternate with workshops open to witnesses or dedicated to the critical analysis of budgetary sources. The objective is to compile, from these interventions, two or three thematic dossiers for publication in peer-reviewed journals

State-building, social movements and political economy
Modernity was marked by the edification of increasingly complex and sophisticated state system, committed to governing territories and populations, through a multiplicity of administrative, fiscal, police and judicial networks. At the same time, new mechanisms for legitimizing political power emerged, based on the building of a public sphere and the dissemination of different forms of collective organization and mobilization: from associations to petitions, from political demonstrations to strikes and riots. Finally, a new regime of production and consumption was created in the form of a Political Economy directed to the creation of markets, the movement of goods and the accumulation of capital.

L’inquiétude largement partagée eu égard à la croissance des inégalités appelle à une correction de la situation, et la fiscalité représente l’outil principal dont disposent les sociétés démocratiques pour y parvenir. Ce colloque vise à explorer les possibilités qu’offrent les différents instruments de la politique fiscale pour répondre aux défis actuels de la justice sociale. À cette fin, le colloque invite les contributions qui portent sur ces instruments, leurs modalités et leur faisabilité. Cela peut concerner l’impôt progressif, ses justifications et ses réformes, les débats autour de l’impôt sur les successions, la nécessité ou la réalisabilité d’un impôt sur le capital, ou porter encore sur toute autre forme d’impôt sur la richesse, inédite ou non.

En sa première année, le séminaire Futurs de la protection sociale : l'allocation universelle en question(s) offrira, grâce à l’intervention d’universitaires (parmi lesquels Philippe Van Parijs et Yannick Vanderborght) et d’une pluralité d’acteurs de terrain, un tour d’horizon des problématiques soulevées par l’allocation universelle, qu’il s’agisse de son histoire, sa faisabilité, sa désirabilité ou encore des transformations qu’elle pourrait impliquer dans la mise en œuvre de la protection sociale française.
