  Crises and Infrastructures: Responses to Change Between Materiality and Immateriality

  A Dialogue Between Anthropology, Geography and History

  PhD students from the XXXIV cycle of the joint PhD Programme in Historical, Geographical, Anthropological Studies (University of Padova, Ca' Foscari Venice, Verona) are happy to invite you to their conference, titled "Crises and Infrastructures: Responses to Change Between Materiality and Immateriality. A Dialogue Between Anthropology, Geography and History". We will be exploring the interactions between various examples of Crises and Infrastructural response, trying to push for an interdisciplinary dialogue. We aim to reflect not only on the role of infrastructures as means of problem-solving, but also on the varied outcomes of critical moments.   Zwischen Ritus und Mythos: Karneval in der europäischen Kultur

  Woher kommt das soziale Bedürfnis nach dem Karneval? Ist es heute noch vorhanden? Vom bedeutenden Einfluss der Commedia dell’Arte zum Fastnachtsspiel, zum théâtre bouffon, zur Farce,  bis zu Goethes Beobachtungen zum Römischen Karneval, von Schumanns Komposition Carnaval über Saint-Saëns Le Carnaval des animaux bis zur Malerei Bruegels des Älteren, Monets, Manets, Pissarros – Die Autoren, Komponisten und Künstler, die sich vom Karneval inspirieren ließen sind zahlreich. Das Ziel der Konferenz ist es, neuartige Perspektiven, Ideen und Ansätze zum Thema Karneval und Karnevalisierung auszuloten und zu kombinieren. Eine explizit interdisziplinäre und internationale Ausrichtung der Konferenz ist erwünscht.
