  Art Markets : An Integrated Perspective 2020

  International Summer School - Antwerp-Brussels July 6-10, 2020

  Inspired by the success of the first Art Markets Summer School held in Lyon in June 2019, a second edition of this unique research, training and networking experience will take place in July 2020 in Belgium. A team of international experts from relevant fields such art history, economics, sociology, finance and digital humanities will engage with participants with an academic or professional interest in the global art market. An exciting program combining lectures, workshops and field trips will familiarize the participants with the nature and structure of the art market system. Attention will be given to the theoretical and conceptual frameworks, the various actors in the art market and the available methodological tools to study this fascinating yet complex phenomenon. This immersive experience will inspire and shape new interdisciplinary thinking about the emergence, history and dynamics of art markets around the world.

  Summer School in Global and Transnational History: Debating the Past in an Age of Global Disruption

  The Department of History and Civilization (HEC) at the European University Institute (EUI) is happy to announce its sixteenth Summer School in Global and Transnational History, which will take place in September 2020 in the historic Villa Salviati, looking out over the hills of Florence. The Summer School will combine discussion of methodological issues in global, transnational and comparative history with case studies by leading specialists from the European University Institute and other major universities.

  Université d'été de la Bibliothèque Kandinsky

  L’université d'été de la bibliothèque Kandinsky est un programme du Centre Pompidou qui se déroule dans l’espace des collections permanentes du musée national d’Art moderne. Elle a pour objet les sources de l’art moderne et contemporain : archives, documentation écrite, photographique ou filmique, témoignages, formes de production documentaire par les artistes. Format interdisciplinaire, l’université d'été de la bibliothèque Kandinsky réunit de jeunes chercheur·e·s : historiens et historiens de l’art, anthropologues et sociologues, artistes, critiques, commissaires d’expositions, qui partagent un travail collectif sur les sources documentaires. Ils se réunissent tous et toutes autour de la table-vitrine de l’université d'été à la fois dispositif d’accueil, table de montage et d’exposition. Elle recueille fac-similés, reproductions, sources archivistiques et documentaires proposées ou évoquées au cours des séances. Plusieurs ateliers d’écriture rythment le parcours de l’université d’été.
