Muslims: a European History 16th-21st century
For the second consecutive year, the CHSP (Centre d’histoire de sciences po) European History Seminar explores the social lives of Muslims in early modern and modern European societies. It fits in with the preliminary works of ESLAM (European Societies in the Light of Apolitical Muslims) and is open to established scholars, junior researchers and Ph.D. and master degree’s students in history and social sciences.

Theoretical and methodological perspectives for research
This dossier invites researchers to submit papers discussing the theoretical and methodological challenges and limits facing new research questions in order to address the interfaces between religion and gender in Latin American countries in light of changes in the social and religious field in recent decades. We welcome works produced from different areas of knowledge in the social and human sciences, as well as areas and studies at the intersection of these issues. We set out to encourage reflection on the ethical challenges faced by researchers regarding the new theoretical and methodological models used in our region and beyond.

The ERC MAP Seminar “The Names of the Gods! 5: Who named the gods? Utterers, addressers, ritual agents” pursues the investigation on the systems of naming of the divine. This year, it focuses on the human agents in the process of naming the divine, whether they are producers of a discourse on the deities, addressers in a communication with the deities, or even experts in charge of a ritual knowledge. What agency do men and women exercise in the production of a specific denomination of the divine? How can we question their choices, their anchoring in a tradition or their innovation strategies?

Le terme « ethnoscénologie » est apparu pour la première fois en titre d’un manifeste publié dans la revue Théâtre/Public (1995). Les auteurs déclaraient la nécessité de proposer un néologisme – « scéno » – du grec désignant le corps dans son entièreté psychosomatique. Le choix de ce formant neutre : « scéno » permet d’inclure non seulement les pratiques considérées comme artistiques dans certaines cultures, mais également l’ensemble des formes performatives qu’elles soient festives, carnavalesques, circassiennes, sportives, cérémonielles (rituels), théâtrales, parlées, chantées, dansées. Le manifeste entendait s’opposer à tout préjugé, censure, stéréotype, ethnocentrisme, réductionnisme dans l’étude de la diversité des productions humaines fondées dans l’imaginaire. Quel bilan doctoral six ans après le parcours des docteurs en ethnoscénologie en France, au Maroc, en Tunisie, au Brésil, etc. ?

Fear and the upheaval to habits in the age of the pandemic
Si l’on remonte le temps de plusieurs siècles, nous pouvons chercher à comprendre si non seulement les pandémies, mais aussi d’autres événements traumatisants du passé comme les tremblements de terre ou les éruptions volcaniques, ont affecté quelque habitude collective en particulier, et selon quelle logique. Plus directement, nous pouvons aussi observer si les habitudes propres à un territoire peuvent être modelées en réponse à un risque naturel et/ou par prévention face à un aléa, eu égard des enjeux. Mais que se passe-t-il lorsqu’un événement imprévu, comme une pandémie, bouleverse le cours normal de la société ?

Heritages values of 20th century architecture: what recognition?
Critical review and international forward-looking vision
The heritage values of 20th century architecture, whether they be cultural, social or technical, remain relatively complex to assess, and thus to share, due to lack of perspective and knowledge. The architectural and urban production of the second half of the 20th century was particularly prolific, sometimes remarkable, even exceptional. The energy, ecological transition, the changing habits and lifestyles are leading to the gradual transformation of this built heritage reaching to the end of its life cycle. Since the 1990-2000’s, a movement for heritage making has developed, which leads to many questions relating to possible and desirable developments of these architectural achievements. This issue of In Situ seeks to take a European or international critical perspective on the architecture of the 20th century and to highlight doctrines and positions adopted, practices and examples of schemes, policies or projects.

Creolisation through art and design? Creation on a global scale
Le point de départ de cette journée est une recherche publiée sous le titre « Éloj Kréyol » (2019) et issue du terrain homonyme entrepris depuis 2015 par le duo de designers dach&zephir. D’ici, en reprenant la formule désormais classique de James Clifford (1988 : 173) selon laquelle « nous sommes tous créoles maintenant dans nos propres archipels urbains », nous souhaitons, lors de cette journée d’étude, interroger la notion de créolisation dans le champ de l’art et du design et éprouver comment celle-ci ouvre à des nouvelles modalités de création issue des contacts interculturels et d’une vision relationnelle du monde. Réunissant artistes, designers et chercheurs en sciences sociales, cette journée d’étude alternera présentation académique, présentation-installation et présentation artistique afin de produire une réflexion critique sur la notion de créolisation, d’interroger les potentialités et les limites de son usage en art et design et penser les relations que cette notion entretient avec les notions connexes de décolonisation, de marronage et de résistance.

Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Christian Initiation from Late Antiquity to the Middle Ages
On the occasion of this meeting dedicated to baptism and baptisteries, we intend to highlight the spatialization of baptismal rituals and their evolution between Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages, by comparing different geographical areas within the boundaries of the Roman Empire and its neighbouring regions. Through the dialogue between written sources and archaeology, we would like to investigate whether baptismal practices could assert regional or confessional Christian identities.

En posant, la question des impostures et des vérités en art(s) à partir d’œuvres singulières, il s’agit de s’interroger lors du colloque, sur la manière dont chaque artiste s’arrange ou dérange la « société de l’imposture » en proposant des formes de création inédites, en ayant par exemple recours dans leurs fictions : au plagiat, à la tromperie, au faux dans les productions proposées à leurs publics, pour transgresser de manière critique les impostures présentes dans l’ordinaire de nos vies.

Logics, stakes and limits of cultural heritage transmission in Eurasia
The thematic issue is about cultural heritage and patrimonialization. It aims at comparing the varying notions of “tradition” and “safeguarding of culture” within an empirical approach.We focus on conflicts about the creation of culture and how these globalised and specific contexts shape a changing self-perception of “ethnic identity” in Northern Asia, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.The articles may be on local as well as global expressions of cultural heritage: poetical genre, engraving or wood carving, architecture, ethno-parks or ecomuseums, cultural tourism, opposition to projects of valorization, etc. Analysis may also focus on the role of actors involved in local projects, on historical contexts or on international fashions.

Dans la continuité du mouvement historique de lutte contre les violences sexuelles et de l’actualité récente du mouvement #MeToo, nous souhaitons explorer les formes de résistance mises en place pour faire face aux violences, au moment où elles s’exercent et par la suite, en tenant compte de leur position dans les rapports sociaux. Nous nous interrogerons sur le recueil des récits de violences sexuelles et les difficultés d’une telle enquête.
