Ce site web est la restitution des travaux des contributeurs bénévoles qui ont participé à la transcription et à l’encodage au format informatique TEI des testaments, via la plateforme de transcription collaborative mise en ligne en janvier 2021.

À l'occasion de son vingtième anniversaire, le Collectif des centres de documentation en histoire ouvrière et sociale (CODHOS), dont les membres vivent et accompagnent au quotidien ces bouleversements, organise deux journées d’études pluridisciplinaires autour des sources de l’histoire sociale. Elles seront l’occasion de poursuivre les missions qu'il s'est fixées lors de sa création : organiser et favoriser les rencontres et les échanges entre chercheur·e·s en sciences sociales et archivistes, bibliothécaires, documentalistes et autres professionnel·le·s de la conservation, sur cette relation entre l’événement social et historique, l’archive produite et l’utilisation qui en est faite.

Actors, practices and representations of security: 19th-21st centuries
XIXe-XXIe siècle
Dans la continuité des travaux engagés depuis 2000, ce séminaire approfondit l'étude de la gendarmerie et il élargit l'enquête à l'histoire de tous les organismes, civils ou militaires, publics (justice, polices nationale et municipales, douanes, services de pompiers, etc.) ou privés, qui participent, d'une manière ou d'une autre aux missions de sécurité. Attentif aux institutions mais surtout aux acteurs et actrices, le chantier entend accorder une large place à l'observation des protagonistes et à leurs pratiques concrètes. Ce séminaire veut enfin contribuer à la compréhension de l'insécurité par l'étude des faits criminels et de leur traitement politique, médiatique et judiciaire, mais aussi par l'exploration des peurs et des passions collective, abordées dans leur épaisseur historique, en tenant compte de leurs diversités sociales et territoriales.

History, politics and culture in Eastern-Central Europe
Protest and mobilisations in Eastern-Central Europe: actors, registers, methods (from the 19th century to the present day)
Ce séminaire collectif s’inscrit dans une perspective multidisciplinaire (histoire, histoire culturelle, sciences politiques, géographie, sociologie) sur un thème transrégional choisi pour l’année. Sans prérequis de langue, il est ouvert à tous. Les grandes causes sociétales comme la protection de l’environnement, l’égalité des genres ou la lutte contre la corruption, souvent articulées à des contestations du pouvoir politique, ont été investies avec intensité dans les pays de l’Europe médiane au cours des dernières années. Ces mouvements actuels invitent à interroger les formes des contestations et des mobilisations que cet espace a connues depuis le XIXe siècle, dans une perspective renouvelée. En effet, la circulation des acteurs, des registres et des modalités d’engagement conduit à analyser les transformations du politique et la dimension transnationale des mobilisations.

1956-1958: A revolutionary period that changed Africa (and the world)
The objective of this panel is to compare the various social mobilizations that took place in Africa during the years 1956-1958 and which arguably constitute a historical watershed. The main aim of the panel is not the making of an abstract comparative analysis, but the analysis, based on the testimonial material collected, of how the memory of these events has been structured over time. Moreover, we are interested in understanding what the impacts of these social movements were on the structuring of states and what continuities can be found between the mobilizations of that period and the ary social mobilizations that have shaken the continent in the last ten years, from the ‘Arab Spring’ of 2011 onwards.

Tour à tour esthétique, industriel, de service, d’interaction, le design est un concept plastique qui gagne également le management en tant que système de pensée. Ces diverses acceptions renforcent l’intérêt pour un concept qui peut être abordé comme un révélateur des projets qu’élaborent des individus, des collectifs pour transformer leurs conditions de vie. L’appel à article de la revue Entreprises et histoire « Design et entreprise » invite à réfléchir sur l’identité du design et sur ce qu’il fait à l’entreprise non seulement du point de vue des produits et des projets qu’elle développe mais aussi de son système de management, de son organisation.

Unusual looks: objects, places, agents
On the Bicentennial of the Greek Revolution and the inauguration of the Paris-Athens 1780-1919 exhibition, the Louvre Museum and the French School at Athens are organizing an international conference, which will be held at the Louvre Museum and the Institute of France, from 22 to 23 April 2021 under the auspices of the Académie des Inscriptions et des Belles Lettres. This conference also benefits from the support of the Initiative 1821-2021. The languages of the conference will be French and English.

Dans le cadre de l’exposition Mémoires républicaines en Vaucluse qui se déroulera au Musée d’histoire Jean Garcin à Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (84800), la Conservation départementale projette de publier un catalogue d’exposition dans lequel figureront les textes et documents de l’exposition majeurs ainsi que des articles scientifiques. Dans ce contexte, un appel à contribution est lancé afin d’embrasser au mieux la période révolutionnaire en Vaucluse et d’offrir un contenu scientifique supplémentaire à l’exposition.

Illness as Metaphor in the Latin Middle Ages
Leeds International Medieval Congress 2021
The session seeks to provide a forum for scholars to reflect on the variation and functions of metaphors of illness in the Latin writing of the Middle Ages. We encourage papers that investigate how the imagery of morbus, pestilentia, gangraena etc. structured individual experience and how it shaped self-knowledge and practices of communities. We invite original contributions that critically examine the role that Latin metaphors of illness played in medieval discourse as a tool of explaining reality and as a rhetorical device used to impose specific world views.

It is a period of transition to the Modern State and it is a moment of intensification of the material manifestations of a state nature. The colloquium is organised in three sessions: the first session will deal with the material exhibition of royal power. The second session focuses on the territorialisation of the State. The third one is centered on the autonomous development of the State beyond the monarchy.

The international conference bears a transdisciplinary outlook as it cross-references a variety of scientific fields (history of cinema, aesthetics, philosophy, history, political science, anthropology, sociology, etc.). A film retrospective of documentary films will be held at the Cinémathèque du documentaire (Centre Pompidou, Paris), as well as screenings followed by debates and panel discussions at Inalco in the presence of the filmmakers Marcel Łoziński and Želimir Žilnik.

Writing for the court or reading directed (Europe, 16th-18th centuries)
L’objectif de cette journée d’étude est d’observer des actions d’écriture qui façonnent les cours comme lectorat. Il s’agit tout autant d’une contribution à l’histoire des usages politiques et sociaux de la littérature dans la proximité du pouvoir, que d’une invitation à saisir l’idée de cour pensée comme lieu de réception des écrits et comme espace peuplé de lecteurs. L’approche retenue invite notamment à déplacer l’idéologie curiale de Castiglione et Gracian, où la lecture, voire l’écriture, sont pour l’homme de cour des « plaisirs honnêtes qui occupent l’esprit en y imprimant une habitude vertueuse ». Cette image occulte en effet le fonctionnement des cours, où l’écrit et ses modalités de diffusion et de réception démultiplient les moyens d’action dans le champ social.

Online Course on the US Original Constitution and its Reception in Brazil
In times of Covid19, the Federal University of Paraiba, UFPB, opens this course to the global audience. Students from the world will have the opportunity to discuss the USA and Brazil's constitutional history from the Founding Era to the end of the nineteenth century with an instructor and Brazilian students of its Graduate Program in Law. The UFPB offers these lectures through the Google Meet platform with a limited number of spots for better development of the studies and discussions amongst participants. Some international scholars will take part in the course as special guests presenting seminars about their newly published books or legal articles in which they are authors on subjects connected to constitutional matters. 100% online course.

Avancer dans les pays développés, la décentralisation est un phénomène inachevé et en cours de maturation au Cameroun.

"All Alone" in East-Central Europe: Reinventing the Orphan from the Fascist to the Socialist Era
International PhD Contract 2020-2023
Full-time, 36-month-long international PhD contract at Sorbonne University (PhD program IV) within the research centre Eur'ORBEM and in partnership with the French Research Centre in Social Sciences (CEFRES) in Prague, from 1 October 2020, under the supervision of Clara Royer. The PhD thesis may be written in French or in English. PhD propositions should focus on the discourses and practices surrounding the orphan condition in literature and/or visual arts (cinema, photography, graphic arts and so forth) in the wake of the violence and demographic upheavals that characterized 20th century East-Central Europe. Because of its interdisciplinary scope, applicants with a background in social history, literary studies and/or visual arts specialized in one or several countries of East-Central Europe may apply.

Pour ce premier appel à communication, nous nous intéresserons surtout aux « diasporas » provoquées par l’engagisme. L’histoire de l’engagisme, phénomène migratoire de grande ampleur, reste peu étudiée à l’échelle internationale. Pourtant son importance est capitale au regard de l’histoire coloniale européenne et de la construction identitaire des anciens territoires coloniaux, des pays d’origine des engagés (Inde, Chine, Mozambique, Afrique de l’Ouest, etc…), de l’Europe ultra-marine, des Amériques et même de l’Europe continentale. Ce colloque international organisé sous forme de deux ateliers a pour ambition de contribuer à mettre en avant les déplacés eux-mêmes, ou leurs descendants, et d’analyser leur parcours identitaire au prisme d’expériences de vies.
