Body and power: the body in political art in the modern age
The ambition of these two days is to explore issues related to the body carrying a political discourse, by mobilizing works created from the Renaissance to the dawn of the 19th century. By bringing together young and experienced researchers, both French and foreign, this event will make it possible to confront methodologies (formal, iconographic, aesthetic approaches...) by bringing together various case studies discussing these imposing, heroic, seductive, disquieting or repulsive bodies, whose anatomy was more or less unveiled to embody, among other things, the figure of the invincible victor as opposed to the vulnerable victim.

Pour accompagner les agrégatifs dans la préparation de cette nouvelle question du programme d'histoire, les conservateurs de la bibliothèque Mazarine ont conçu plusieurs ateliers-conférences. Le principe est d’aborder l’histoire de l’imprimé dans ses divers aspects (production et marchandisation, régulation, fonctions, réception et usages…), à la faveur de séances thématiques organisées autour de pièces sélectionnées dans les collections. Une attention toute particulière sera consacrée à la manufacture, à la matérialité et aux mutations formelles des objets imprimés.

Territorial imagery and the creation of a Dutch identity (1579-1702)
This two-day symposium aims to shed light on the ways in which Dutch depictions of national and transnational territories participated in the formulation of a shared identity. Multidisciplinary discussions will allow us to examine the terms of territorial imagery in Dutch visual culture, and their links with the formation of a national myth in the Early Modern Dutch Republic.

Guido delle Colonne and his Reception in Medieval Europe
Guido delle Colonne’s Historia destructionis Troiae has been a phenomenal success since its composition at the end of the 13th century. Nevertheless, academic studies remain limited and questions remain open about the author himself (judge, historian and poet?), about his sources – including the essential Trojan novel in verse by Benoît de Saint Maure –, about the construction and style of his work and about its intents in a particularly troubled period. While significant progress has been made in recent years, studies are far from being exhaustive and the case deserve to be considered anew. Historia's interest lies in particular in the translations, adaptations and summaries it generated throughout Europe until the 17th century. This international conference aims thus to shed new lights on the original text as well as on the diversity of its appropriations, between filiation and emancipation. In this regard, the spectacular diffusion has contributed to strenghten a Trojan European literature.

Christina, Queen of Sweden at the crossroads
L'université de Bourgogne (laboratoire CPTC), en collaboration avec l'Assocation Christine de Suède, organise un colloque international sur le thème « Christine de Suède à la croisée des chemins » les 5-7 octobre 2020 à Dijon. Nous voudrions nous pencher ici sur cette « matière de Christine de Suède », de façon comparatiste et transversale, sans exclusive. L’idée maitresse de notre réflexion sera celle d’une Christine de Suède « à la croisée des chemins » : croisée des chemins européens (elle est passé à Dijon, ce dont le colloque se souviendra), personnage entre les « genders », personnage entre les « genres », personnage entre les savoirs.

Parisian theatres under the Ancien Régime (ThéPARis)
The transversality of pratices, the circulation of people, aesthetic and poetical stakes. 2nd edition
Le séminaire développe un espace de réflexion sur la transversalité des pratiques artistiques entre les théâtres parisiens, institutionnels et non institutionnels, publiques et privés, sous l’Ancien Régime. La notion de transversalité est envisagée sous trois angles majeurs : la circulation des personnes ; le partage des univers sonores et visuels ; la circulation des thèmes, des genres et des formes dramatiques. Elle est ainsi abordée comme un moyen de requestionner le façonnement des pratiques, de l’esthétique et de la poétique théâtrales entre le XVIIe et le XVIIIe siècle.

Children in the Renaissance in the former Netherlands (late 15th-early 17th centuries)
Le colloque interrogera la place de l’enfant et sa perception dans la société dans une période de forte mutation, portée par le mouvement humaniste et marquée par les progrès scientifiques et les troubles politiques et religieux, mais aussi par une poussée démographique et un rajeunissement de la société. Le propos est de faire le point sur l’état des connaissances sur l’enfant à la Renaissance dans un territoire spécifique et de proposer de nouvelles pistes de recherche. Les travaux porteront principalement sur les anciens Pays-Bas mais des comparaisons avec les aires géographiques proches (France du Nord, Angleterre, Allemagne, etc.) seront également bienvenues. Le colloque s’adresse aux historiens, aux archéologues, aux historiens de l’art, aux chercheurs en littérature, aux philosophes, etc.

Book Design at the Officina Plantiniana and beyond
Forms, models and influences
Organisé à l'occasion du Ve centenaire de la naissance de Christophe Plantin (vers 1520–1589), ce colloque d'histoire du livre sera consacré au premier siècle d'activité de l'officine éditoriale créée par Plantin à Anvers, et transmise à ses successeurs : les Moretus. Il accordera une attention particulière aux questions de typographie, de mise en page et d’illustration. Les thématiques suivantes seront privilégiées : les caractéristiques formelles de l’édition imprimée entre les années 1550 et les années 1650 ; les influences reçues et exercées par les Plantin-Moretus ; la marque de l’Officina Plantiniana et ses usages.
