  La conclusion de la paix à Utrecht est souvent considérée comme un moment clé de l’irruption des enjeux commerciaux dans les négociations internationales. Les questions ayant trait au négoce, que ce soit l’obtention du privilège de l’asiento par les Anglais ou les droits de pêche à Terre-Neuve, ont été au cœur des négociations pacificatrices menées en Hollande. Elles mettaient en jeu de vastes espaces géographiques avec le Pacifique, l’Atlantique ou encore le monde méditerranéen. Si le règlement de questions européennes est bien connu, les dimensions maritime, coloniale et commerciale méritent d’être revisitées à l’aune des apports historiographiques récents. Elles permettraient de mettre en évidence les relations entre le monde du pouvoir et celui du négoce. En effet, la paix d’Utrecht marqua l’apparition d’un nouveau type de diplomate, le « négociant-négociateur ».

  Les sociétés anciennes menaient-elles des politiques économiques ?

  De la politique économique à l'histoire économique de l'Antiquité : perspectives de recherche

  Scholars are used to study the ancient world, either through the “economic” category or the “politic” one, categories excluding one another. In the framework of a study day at the Ausonius Institute (Bordeaux), we have chosen to interrogate the relevance of the notion of economic policy, in order to analyse decisions made by the ancient societies about activities of material productions and goods exchanges. The study day will be concluded by a workshop intended for introducing new ways to study the ancient economic history.

  Dealing with the history of electric and electronic informations’ borders crossing, the summer school will evocatingly take place where one of the very first transatlantic television transmissions occured, in 1962 in the northern part of Brittany. It aims at providing doctoral students with an overview of relevant research results and of innovative tools and methodologies in the field of communication history in an international / transnational / global perspective.
