  The seminar is the meeting point between different SPHERE teams that are interested in mathematics. It fosters dialogue between philosophers and historians of mathematics while focusing on textual sources. Speakers are encouraged to make their sources available to the participants.

  6th Conference of the Portuguese Association of Anthropology - panel T047

  This panel is meant to discuss these migrating populations’ mobility procedures in lusophone countries, while seeking to construct through the different presentations a broaden mosaic of reflexions about when and how these populations have moved, and how they have used and instrumentalized the "imagined" and politically constructed idea of a "lusophone community".

  Ce séminaire propose d’explorer l’histoire des danses sociales et spectaculaires dans une perspective culturaliste, attentive à l’articulation et aux écarts entre les pratiques et les représentations. Au second semestre, on étudiera plus particulièrement la question des lieux et de la circulation des pratiques en danse.

  Romain Rolland and India: a fruitful exchange

  Dès ses années de formation à l’École normale supérieure, Rolland s’intéresse aux religions d’Asie que lui fait découvrir le romantisme français et allemand. Le thème de l’Orient est d’ailleurs plusieurs fois abordé dans Jean-Christophe. Très impliqué, après la guerre, dans le débat Orient-Occident, Rolland s’intéresse à  Mohandas K. Gandhi et son satyagraha comme moyen non-violent de libération des peuples.
