  Helsinki 40 years later

  International Reordering and Societal Change (1975-1990)

  Ever since its signing 40 years ago, the Helsinki Final Act has been at the heart of political and historical controversies. While at the time some saw it as an instrument designed to preserve the European status quo, today it is widely perceived as a major contribution to the end of the Cold War and the disappearance of the Soviet bloc. Twenty five years after the end of the Cold War, this conference will seek to evaluate the reality of this interaction between diplomacies and societies during and after the Helsinki conference.

  L'influence du néolibéralisme anglo-saxon sur le droit public français

  En ce début de XXIe siècle, le droit français connaît de profondes mutations liées à l’influence exercée par la pensée néolibérale depuis les années 1980. Bien que se présentant à l’origine comme une nouvelle forme d’organisation sociale centrée sur l’économie, son incidence sur le droit s’est en effet avérée déterminante à mesure que ses préceptes ont inspiré le programme politique de nombre de gouvernants, à la suite de Margaret Thatcher en Grande Bretagne et de Ronald Reagan aux États-Unis. Le néolibéralisme s’est ainsi trouvé revêtu d’une véritable portée normative qui a fini par bouleverser le droit français, sous la double influence du droit communautaire et des grandes organisations internationales. En droit public aucune discipline n’a été épargnée par ce phénomène.

  Can we compare the “Color Revolutions” and the “Arab Springs”?

  Democratic Dynamics, Institutional Changes, Transnational Movements and International Relations

  The conference will explore the revolutionary processes and the (more or less successful) democratic dynamics underway within Eastern Europe and the Arab world, in order to demonstrate how plural societies emerge through protest against authoritarian States. It will also question, by using a multidisciplinary approach, the reality of the interaction between democratization and international relations.
