  II Meeting of REPORT(H)A - Portuguese Network of Environmental History

  The Center of History of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon and the Institute of Contemporary History of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the NOVA University of Lisbon, are pleased to be hosting the II meeting of REPORT(H)A - Portuguese Network of Environmental History, in 2017 Spring. The cross cutting conference theme, Environmental Changes in Historical Perspective, is inscribed in transnational and transdisciplinary approaches, a challenge to the current academic research and debate in environmental sciences and humanities.

  The October Revolution

  III International Congress Karl Marx

  The October Revolution of 1917 was one of the most significant events of the modern era. Its historical meaning can be understood, on the one hand, within the narrative of previous revolutions – starting with the 1789 French Revolution – and of the rise of the labour movement in the nineteenth-century. On the other hand, 1917 also paved the way to several other twentieth-century events and phenomena, such as the Chinese Revolution or the post-colonial turn. On its hundredth anniversary, the Institute for Contemporary History organizes an international conference dedicated to the study and discussion of the October Revolution and its consequences.

  Las mujeres y la militancia política contra las dictaduras de América latina

  Revista «Orda»

  Ese dossier tiene como principal objetivo reunir los trabajos de investigadores de diferentes países, de distintas áreas del conocimiento y de diversos abordajes teóricos y metodológicos para fomentar la discusión sobre cuestiones referidas a la participación política femenina durante las dictaduras de América del Sur. Los trabajos deberán abarcar la temática de mujeres y procesos de militancia, considerando un concepto de militancia que pueda incluir varias actuaciones de categorías sociales de militancia femenina.

  Socialismes africains | Socialismes en Afrique

  Les temps sont venus de donner aux socialismes africains et/ou aux socialismes en Afrique la place qui leur revient dans l’historiographie générale du socialisme et dans celle de l’Afrique. Les histoires du, des socialismes, qu’ils soient ou non « réels » oublient systématiquement l’Afrique. Or il a existé en Afrique de très nombreux régimes qui se sont réclamés du socialisme « africain », ou « scientifique », de même que de très nombreux opposants qui ont d’autant plus cherché leur inspiration dans les outils théoriques construits par le marxisme – ou sa vulgate –, que celui-ci leur semblait proposer une théorie de l’histoire favorable à l’avenir des peuples colonisés ou anciennement colonisés.

  El Congreso, en homenaje a Marie-Claude Chaput, ex presidenta de la asociación Pilar (Prensa, Impresos, Lectura en el Área Románica) y antigua docente-investigadora de Rennes 2, está dedicado al lugar y papel desempeñados por los intelectuales en los medios de comunicación, dentro de los mundos hispanófono y lusófono, desde una perspectiva pluridisciplinar: histórica, política, económica, cultural y linguística.
