  The Soul in Community

  Individual and Collective Identities in New France

  In collaboration with Simon Fraser University and several religious orders who played a founding role in the history of Montreal, the Collectif d’Anthropologie et d’Histoire du Spirituel sous l’Ancien Régime (CAHSA) organizes an interdisciplinary conference on the interaction between individual and collective spiritualities in New France. The conference will take place in Montreal from October 13th-15th, 2016.

  Rites and identities

  L’objet du colloque Rites et Identités est de regrouper des chercheurs de toutes les disciplines qui s’intéressent aux rites en relation avec les questions identitaires. Chacun pourra montrer comment il entrevoit les liens entre la construction des identités – devenue le nouvel impératif catégorique de la postmodernité – et leurs mises en scène (performances) dans divers contextes de l’existence. Délibérément interdisciplinaire, ce colloque est ouvert à toutes les perspectives théoriques et méthodologiques. Il vise à mieux saisir les multiples articulations entre les rites et les identités.
