Radiohead’s musical, cultural, and political legacies
Following a symposium held at Rennes 2 University last may, further contributions (in English or French) are now sought in order to publish a wide-ranging, peer-reviewed collection of articles appraising OK Computer’s musical, cultural and political legacy twenty years after its release. The aim of this publication is to bring together contributions from scholars who wish to confront Radiohead’s work with their own disciplinary methodologies, including (but not limited to) musicology, sociology, art history, political science, literature, cultural studies or even economics.

Wars and political violence in modern European and American societies (19th-21st century)
“Amnis” Journal
Amnis Review seeks to open up a reflection on the synergies that exist between war and political violence – both real and symbolic – and to ascertain to what extent the two phenomena are interlinked as well as how far they can be regarded as an essential area of research for gaining an understanding of the historical processes at work during a given period. To this end, Amnis proposes a long-term study focused on the contemporary period in order to analyse not only the impact of conflicts, such as the two world wars that left their mark on the 20th century, but also the consequences of the many civil wars, colonisation wars and the various other types of confrontations that have punctuated the history of European and American societies from the 19th century to the present.

The Treaty of Rome and youth doctrine - sixty years on
À l'occasion des soixante ans du traité de Rome, cet appel à contribution sollicite la jeune doctrine afin de lui donner l'occasion de s'exprimer sur ce moment clé de l'intégration européenne. À chaque génération sa vision de l’intégration européenne, mais peut-être aussi des institutions et du droit qui l’accompagnent. Passée l’euphorie des premières années, voire des premières décennies, l’Union semble engluée dans une crise perpétuelle, dont la jeune génération a été le témoin privilégié. Elle est aussi celle qui bénéficie des politiques de l’Union, tel Erasmus. Quel regard porte cette génération sur l’Union européenne ? Les soixante-ans du traité de Rome offrent une occasion de l’interroger, et de s’interroger avec elle.

Austria and Hungary in the period 1866-1918
An exceptional contribution to the legal protection of human rights
En 2016-2017 l’Autriche et la Hongrie fêtent le 150e anniversaire du compromis constitutionnel de 1866-67. La Constitution adoptée à l’époque a créé un cadre pour un développement rapide de la monarchie constitutionnelle et la construction de l’État de droit. Les premières cours modernes pour la protection des droits fondamentaux (Reichsgericht, Verwaltungsgerichtshof) ont été créées. Vienne et Budapest se sont alors retrouvées dans une situation exceptionnelle. Pour rendre hommage à tous ceux qui ont contribué à cet essor exceptionnel du droit moderne, il est proposé d’organiser un colloque pluridisciplinaire (droit public, histoire du droit, théorie du droit, droit comparé, droits de l’Homme) à Strasbourg.

Actualities and new perspectives in social science research
Homelessness, has been recognized as a public problem, not only by international organizations, but also by the national and local authorities from many countries. Homelessness became also a scientific problem. Many generations of researchers conducted inquiries among homeless people. They analysed the phenomenon of homelessness in a longer history of the treatment of poverty in the occidental societies. They were also able to describe the survival on the streets, the different configurations of support, the social violence against homeless people, the construction of social problem during different eras, etc. This congress wishes to offer a space for exchange in order to develop new perspectives in the field of homelessness research.

Acts of justice, public events: World War II criminals on trial
The conference suggests approaching trials of war crimes and of crimes against humanity, which took place in the aftermath of World War II and its following decades, as specific social events. By including professional and social actors (magistrates and police force, whistle-blowers, witnesses, defendants...) who got involved and shaped audiences of such trials, the conference endeavours to question the notion of publicization. It will cross this perspective with a study of the part played by the media supports in the organization and in the public reception of these trials.

Ce numéro de Comment s'en sortir ? se propose de remettre à l'ordre du jour l'ambition de changement révolutionnaire dont est porteur le féminisme. On concevra celui-ci comme étant doté d'un privilège analytique reposant sur le pouvoir qu'il a de révéler à la fois les potentialités et les limites des pensées et processus révolutionnaires. Il ne s'agit plus ici de considérer le féminisme comme le volet « questions de genre » des politiques d'émancipation, ou comme la « version féminine » de la révolution, mais de comprendre sa nécessaire contribution à toute pensée révolutionnaire et à toute tentative de bouleverser l'ordre des choses.

It gathers seven partner institutions: CNRS, France; Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna, Italy; Cambridge University, UK; Erasmus University Rotterdam, Pays Bas; University of Graz, Austria; John Wesley Theological College, Hungary; National Scientific and Technical Research Council, Argentina.

Internationalisms through the prism of literature and cinema
Interdisciplinary seminar - Asia, Africa, Latin America
L'une des hypothèses de travail de ce séminaire est que les épistémologies issues de la guerre froide, qui ont eu souvent pour effet de naturaliser les catégories explicatives dichotomiques (problématique des blocs), ont en même temps soustrait à la mémoire des pans entiers d'histoire et ont fait des récits de ces évènements des squelettes sans promesse. Ce séminaire a donc pour objectif de rétablir les circulations artistiques, politiques, idéologiques et philosophiques qui, au lendemain de seconde guerre mondiale, ont largement nourri des artistes, des intellectuels et des représentants politiques dans les continents dits du Tiers Monde.

From colour prejudice to colour-blindness (17th-21st centuries)
Depuis quelques années, des travaux étudient les formes de racialisation subies ou revendiquées par certains groupes dans la société française, en particulier par les populations noires. Ils invitent également à analyser les usages sociaux de la notion de race (entendue comme un fait social et non biologique) en France et ils interrogent de façon générale la place à accorder à la « question raciale » dans l’historiographie française. Quelle histoire sociale des populations noires ces travaux permettent-ils de construire ? Dans quelle mesure, la catégorie « populations noires » est-elle pertinente et que peut-elle apporter ?
