  Patrimonialiser l’habiter. Quand les usages deviennent-ils patrimoine ?

  Rencontre annuelle du réseau « Logiques identités espaces urbanités » (LIEU) 2018

  Si depuis deux ou trois décennies le phénomène de la patrimonialisation concerne des objets de plus en plus divers relevant d’échelles multiples, est-ce que l’habiter même, en tant qu’action, serait devenu un objet de patrimonialisation ? Ce colloque s'intéressera aux processus qui font de l’anodin de la vie quotidienne, et des espaces qui la caractérisent, une expérience unique et représentative, capable d’identifier, qualifier et/ou protéger des lieux à valeur patrimoniale (patrimoine classé, inscrit, ordinaire, bien commun, etc.).

  Contemporary Amman and the Right to the City

  A city of four million inhabitants today, Amman’s expansion has become disproportionate to its urban history. Amman has experienced an impressive urban growth over the past fifty years, driven by forced migration and market laws. Developing from a small rural settlement at the end of the 19^th century, Amman evolved into a regional crossroad at the end of the 20^th century, and has become today a symbol for the consolidation of Hashemite rule, and as a result, the site of its contestation. Amman’s exceptional position among other regional capitals and its recent urban history has forced its inhabitants to create narratives concerning the city’s foundation, invent urban traditions, and negotiate ways of socialization.
