  Issue 16 of IdeAs magazine. Ideas from the Americas, to be published in October 2020, will focus on “The creative power of margins: the rise of black, native, and mixed-race intellectuals in the Americas, 19th-20th centuries”. We want to focus on the Black and non-white intellectual Americas. We receive proposals for articles on all countries of the American continent, in French, English, Spanish or Portuguese.

  Call for papers - Ethnology, anthropology

  Music, Tradition and Creativity in the Digital Era

  New Ethnomusicological Perspectives From the Global South

  This Symposium will explore how digital media and new technologies have affected the ways through which musicians, producers and researchers experiment and engage with "traditional" musical forms, in Colombia and in other parts of the world. The participants are invited to share their research results and methodological experimentations in the field of applied ethnomusicology, music pedagogy, performance, digital audio production or digital humanities about the study of the impact of digital technologies about current musical practices. This Symposium will also include the presence of several local musicians and producers who will conduct workshops on "traditional" Colombian music and music from other countries of the global South.

Visant une audience diversifiée qui recrute parmi hommes, femmes et enfants de toutes catégories sociales, lesdites séries marquent le quotidien en opérant de nouvelles formes de sociabilité telles que la domestication des hommes et l’empouvoirement des femmes et des enfants, ceci au sein d’une société où le patriarcat est encore d’actualité.
