  1914-1918. The war in maps

  The 1rst World War dramatically affected societies and territories, as well as personal lives and all forms of culture, in Europe and elsewhere in the world. The 1914-1918 conflict had in all respects a foundational nature. On the occasion of the 1rst World War commemorations, and in connection with the exhibition, "Summer of '14: The Last Days of the Old World", which will be held at the French National Library from March 25 to August 3, the French Committee of Cartography organizes a conference specifically dedicated to the role of cartography in the war, according to three main issues : the role of maps during the preparation of the war, the use of maps on the theatre of military operations, the importance of the map in a civil society during the war.

  Study days - History

  Between sky and earth, knowledge and cosmography in the Renaissance

  Né dans le sillage humaniste, le projet cosmographique a connu son apogée et son déclin en Europe entre le XVI^e siècle et la première moitié du XVII^e siècle. Pendant sa courte existence, ce projet a cherché à décrire la totalité et la diversité du monde à partir des cercles de la sphère céleste. Pour ce faire, les cosmographes ont mobilisé différents savoirs, traditions et pratiques. Cette journée d’étude propose d’interroger cette hétérogénéité dans son contexte historique de production à partir de quatre axes thématiques : acteurs et lieux de production ; articulation de savoirs ; enjeux politiques de la représentation du monde ; rayonnements de la cosmographie.

  La carte et le patrimoine

  Journée d'étude annuelle du comité français de cartographie

  Il s’agit, à travers des exemples anciens ou récents, de montrer comment la carte a figuré le patrimoine et comment s’est opérée une cartographie du patrimoine depuis l’émergence de cette notion, de l’époque moderne jusqu’à nos jours. La notion de patrimoine est entendue dans un sens très large : patrimoine architectural ou archéologique, patrimoine écrit ou graphique, patrimoine immatériel (langues, pratiques culturelles, etc.).

  A Associação de Pesquisadores e Estudantes Brasileiros na França (APEB-Fr) convida à Jornada de estudos geográficos na Maison du Brésil. Diálogos Geográficos: Brasil-França. Trata-se de uma jornada de estudos organizada pel@s residentes da Maison du Brésil em Paris, em parceria com a APEB-Fr e a Maison du Brésil, a ser realizada nos dias 5 e 7 de fevereiro sempre às 19h30.
