2014 Charles C. Eldredge Book Prize in American Art
Call for Nominations
The Smithsonian American Art Museum invites nominations for the 2014 Charles C. Eldredge Prize, an annual award for outstanding scholarship in American art history. Single-author books devoted to any aspect of the visual arts of the United States and published in the three previous calendar years are eligible. To nominate a book, send a letter explaining the work’s significance to the field of American art history and discussing the quality of the author’s scholarship and methodology. Self-nominations and nominations by publishers are not permitted. The deadline for nominations is December 1, 2013. Please send them to: The Charles C. Le Social Media Club, avec le soutien de la Région Ile-de-France et en partenariat avec le Celsa-Paris Sorbonne, organise les SMC Research Awards, un concours pour récompenser les travaux de jeunes chercheurs en SHS prenant pour objet l’analyse et la compréhension des « médias sociaux » en ligne. Les candidats doivent transmettre leur texte avant le 19 novembre. Un jury composé d’universitaires et de professionnels du numérique sélectionnera les meilleurs articles et récompensera leurs auteurs d''un prix de 2.000 € chacun, ainsi que du titre de « chercheur invité » au sein d’une entreprise partenaire du Social Media Club (pour y présenter ses travaux ou pour une collaboration plus poussée autour de l'utilisation d'outils et de données, selon les besoins et envies de chaque partie).

LabexMed post-doctoral fellowship - MuCEM
Dans le cadre du partenariat entre LabexMed et le MuCEM, il est proposé le recrutement à compter du 1er décembre 2013 d’un chercheur post-doctorant pour un contrat d’une durée de 12 mois, renouvelable une fois. Le post-doctorant sera sous contrat avec l’Université d’Aix-Marseille et rattaché à une unité de recherche partenaire de LabexMed. Il bénéficiera également d’un statut de chercheur associé au MuCEM. Dans le cadre du présent contrat, le thème de recherche proposé est celui de l’économie des restes en Méditerranée qui donnera lieu à une exposition au MuCEM à l’automne 2016. Le post-doctorant associera ce programme de travail à ses activités de recherche dans le cadre de son laboratoire d’accueil partenaire de LabexMed.

The modelisation and analysis of socio-spatial production in antiquity and the present day in two former industrial territories: Givors and Terrenoire (eastern limit of Saint-Etienne)
Portant sur des terrains circonscrits et jugés représentatifs (la ville de Givors – 69 et le quartier de Terrenoire, partie intégrante de la commune de Saint-Etienne – 42), le doctorat s’articulera autour de trois objectifs : un recueil de données à partir des fonds d’archives d’une part, à partir de la mise en œuvre d’enquêtes et d’entretiens d’autre part ; la construction, avec l’appui d’un post-doctorant spécialisé qui sera recruté au second semestre du programme pour une durée d’un an, de modélisations informatiques des structures socio-spatiales de la ville industrielle et de la ville post-industrielle en train de se faire, permettant de révéler à la fois la règle qui est au principe de leur production et l’écart à cette règle ; la mise en évidence et l’analyse des processus de négociation/interprétation inhérents à l’écart à la règle et constitutifs des dispositifs structurant la production socio-spatiale ancienne et contemporaine.

Le/la doctorant(e) sera basé au laboratoire CRIDAF/ Pléiade, Université Paris 13, Villetaneuse. Il (ou elle) travaillera en coordination avec les laboratoires CREW (Paris 3 Sorbonne nouvelle) et Paris Diderot (LARCA). Le projet porte sur l'écriture de l'histoire par les historiens noirs et les récits d'esclaves (pour l'essentiel).

Le projet européen « LexArt - Words for Art : The Rise of a Terminology (1600-1750)», financé par l’ERC (European Research Council-Advanced Grant 2012) porte sur l’étude systématique du vocabulaire artistique tel qu'il s'élabore et se diffuse au Nord des Alpes au XVIIe siècle à partir des textes fondateurs italiens, puis se transforme en relation avec les pratiques artistiques en France, en Grande-Bretagne, aux Pays-Bas et dans les pays germaniques. Le projet compte des partenaires dans six pays européens. L’équipe de recherche, post-doctorants et doctorants travailleront dans différents pays en fonction des aires géographiques étudiées.
