  French Institute of South Africa Fellowships 2014

  PhD / Postdoctorate

  One or two doctoral or post-doctoral research position are vacant at the French Institute of South Africa. IFAS is a French Research Institute Overseas (IFRE) under the supervision of the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the CNRS, covering Southern Africa (UMIFRE 25, USR 3336). These posts are financed through non-renewable (save for exceptional reasons) relocation allowances (Aides à la Mobilité) for a maximum of nine months. Successful applicants will receive the scientific and logistic support of IFAS and will become involved in the scientific life of the Institute by regularly taking part in the ongoing activities (conferences, seminars, conferences, publications, etc.). The relocation allowance comes to €1 200 net per month and, in addition, includes one Paris/Johannesburg/Paris trip which will be refunded on the basis of the price of an economic class air ticket, and medical cover. Nationality will not be a condition for application. Applicants will be selected on the basis of scientific criteria only, although the integration potential of the project into the academic landscape of Southern Africa will be taken into consideration. Priority will be given to applicants whose research is in line with the research programmes of the Institute.

  French Institute of South Africa Funding Application 2014

  Masters, Doctoral, Postdoctoral students, Senior Researchers

  Within the framework of its research programming, the French Institute of South Africa (UMIFRE 25, USR 3336) finances certain research projects in the Human and Social Sciences on Southern Africa. All funding applications from research units, researchers and students for research work, field work, events or publications for 2014 must imperatively reach us before the 11^th of December 2013. Nationality will not be a condition for application, although the existence or prospect of a long-lasting partnership between France and Southern Africa is essential. Financial contribution from another institution is highly desirable. In all cases, funds allocated by IFAS will not exceed 40 000 ZAR or 4 000 EUR. Applicants will receive replies by email during the first quarter of 2014, after their projects have been examined by the members of the Research Council for Africa of the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. All applications will be taken into consideration. However, priority will be given to applicants whose research is in line with the research programmes of the Institute

  La chaire « Enjeux sociaux de la sécurisation alimentaire et nutritionnelle en Afrique subsaharienne » associe l’université Paris 1 – Panthéon-Sorbonne (IEDES), l’entreprise Onyx développement et l’Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD) pour une durée de trois ans. Cette chaire s’articule autour de trois volets (recherche, valorisation/vulgarisation et formation).   Aide à la mobilité internationale au Soudan

  Section française de la Direction des antiquités du Soudan

  La Section française de la Direction des antiquités du Soudan (SFDAS) propose une Aide à la mobilité internationale (AMI) destinée à soutenir la recherche en archéologie soudanaise. Par « archéologie soudanaise », on entend les disciplines concernant l’Antiquité du Nil moyen : Préhistoire, Kerma, archéologie pharaonique, royaumes napatéen et méroïtique, post-méroïtique, royaumes chrétiens, etc. Les candidats doivent être de nationalité française ou d’un des États de l’Union européenne, titulaires d’un master deuxième année (ou de DEA) et être inscrit en thèse dans un établissement en France. Cette aide à la mobilité d’un montant mensuel de 1 400 (mille quatre cent) euros net, inclut un aller retour Paris-Khartoum sur la base du prix d’une classe économique et une couverture médicale. Elle prendra effet à la rentrée 2013 pour une durée de neuf mois.

  Bourse de courte durée 2013 pour un travail de recherche de terrain au Soudan

  L'antenne du CEDEJ à Khartoum propose des bourses de courte durée pour étudiants et jeunes chercheurs travaillant en sciences sociales. Le montant de la bourse sera déterminé au cas par cas, sur étude du dossier de candidature et du budget prévisionnel présenté. L'antenne peut également héberger boursiers et chercheurs de passage, dans la limite des places disponibles, et pour une durée consécutive maximale de 15 jours.
