  Afro-Amériques : résistances, histoires et mémoires

  Revue en ligne « HistoireEngagee.ca »

  Les questions raciales constituent un enjeu majeur des sociétés des Amériques. Celles-ci s’insèrent dans des logiques et dynamiques socioculturelles anciennes. C’est dans cette optique que la revue en ligne HistoireEngagee.ca souhaite lancer un appel à contributions pour un dossier thématique intitulé « Afro-Amériques : résistances, histoires et mémoires ». Par cette initiative, nous souhaitons offrir un espace de contextualisation permettant d’explorer et d’expliciter les liens entre histoire, mémoire et temps présent dans le contexte géographique, culturel et social des afro-Amériques.

  Art History for Artists: Interactions Between Scholarly Discourse and Artistic Practice in the 19th Century

  The development of art history as a discipline during the 19^th century has been variously associated with the politics of national identity, the needs of a growing bourgeois public in search of cultural capital, or of an expanding art market. However, the role of art training, and art practitioners themselves in the shaping of the discipline remains unexamined. Courses in art history had been systematically introduced in the curricula of art and architecture academies since the late 18^th century, and spaces of art education count among the first institutional homes of the discipline, well before the establishment of autonomous university chairs. This conference aims to explore the interactions and productive tensions between art practice and art scholarship in the 19^th century.

  Historiographies, constructions mémorielles et pédagogies de masse en Europe méridionale et en Amérique latine (XIXème-XXIème siècle)

  Cette journée d'études propose d'aborder les processus de (re)construction nationale en Europe méridionale et en Amérique latine entre le XIX^e et le XXI^e siècle depuis une perspective comparatiste. Un premier volet reviendra tout d'abord sur les cadres discursifs de la nation et la question de l'inclusion / exclusion. Un second volet sera consacré aux pratiques pédagogiques qui leur sont associées, notamment celles visant à donner corps aux représentations de la nation. Enfin, le troisième volet s'intéressera aux constructions mémorielles et à la question de la gestion officielle d'un passé traumatique, à travers les cas de l'Argentine et du Chili.

  Art history for artists: interactions between scholarly discourse and artistic practice in the 19th century

  The conference seeks to examine the shaping of art history as a discipline during the 19^th century in relation to artistic training and exchanges between artists and scholars. The development of art history has been associated with an array of socio-political and economic factors such as the formation of a bourgeois public, the politics of national identity and state legitimacy or the needs of an expanding art market. This conference aspires to explore yet another, less studied dimension: the extent to which the historical study of art was also rooted in an intention to inform contemporary artistic production.

  Pensar las derechas en América Latina en el siglo XX

  Este evento pretende dar continuidad a las discusiones iniciadas en el primer Coloquio "Pensar las derechas en América Latina en el siglo XX" llevado a cabo en París en enero del 2014. Al igual que entonces, nos interesa contribuir con el desarrollo de una reflexión académica sobre las derechas, sus promotores, sus organizaciones, sus ideas y sus prácticas. A tal efecto, invitamos a participantes de diversas disciplinas sociales y humanas a que presenten ponencias que permitan conocer mejor a las organizaciones, ideas e identidades de las derechas latinoamericanas en el siglo XX.
