Définir / devenir une image d'archives

Defining / Becoming An Archival Image

L’objectif de ce colloque est d’interroger la notion d’images d’archives, et plus précisément, d’identifier les processus – stratégies, médiations, enjeux et objectifs – qui concourent à conférer à l’image le statut d’archive. Qu’est-ce qui fait qu’une image devient document d’archives, et son corollaire, qu’est-ce qui fait que certaines images échappent à cette qualification ? Deux axes nous apparaissent prioritaires : d’une part la nécessaire généalogie du savoir sur la notion d’archives, sur les enjeux et débats qui ont traversé cette problématique constitutive de la naissance de la photographie et du cinéma. D’autre part, nous voulons aborder le devenir archivistique de l’image dans une perspective qui questionne et croise les pratiques de la « prise », de l’archivage, et de la « reprise » (réemploi, citation, détournement…) au sein de champs à la fois complémentaires et distincts : cinéma, télévision, arts plastiques, marketing, historiographie, muséographie…

Dealer, collector, critic, publisher…: The « animateur d’art » and his multiples roles

Pluridisciplinary research of these disregarded cultural mediators of the 19th and 20th centuries

The first goal of our symposium is to enlighten the role of the animateur d’art in the development of the arts. We hope that this scientific gathering would help us specify this first formula of the cultural actor: “The animateur d’art is an amateur who actively participates in the defense of the arts and in the stimulation of the artistic creation in a certain period. He puts his numerous networks to work in order to spread ideologies and aesthetics through the cultural environment and the society. He is a key figure positioning himself as a mediator between the different art worlds – the plastic arts as well as between the different agents of the cultural environment. His work consists in building bridges between the artists and his own cultural environment in order to ease the reception of the works and to promote a peculiar aesthetics”.

L'histoire du droit et de la justice en situation coloniale bénéficie aujourd'hui d'une dynamique forte à laquelle concourent des chercheurs d'horizons variés. Cette journée, qui réunit des historiens et des juristes, entend y contribuer en questionnant la plasticité du droit, de l'administration et des pratiques judiciaires, dans le cadre de la rencontre coloniale qui confronte les intérêts gouvernementaux à des contraintes culturelles et territoriales inédites (droits autochtones, résistances, immensité des territoires) et place les acteurs judiciaires, entre autres, à l'interface entre l'État et les populations.

Religious institutes as protagonists in renewing liturgy, sacred art and music and church material culture (1903-1962)

The international forum on the History of Religious Institutes in Europe (www.relins.eu) organises its 2012 conference on the role played by religious institutes in the renewal of catholic liturgy, sacred music, sacred art and church material culture during the period 1903-1962. Researches are invited to send in proposals dealing with the following themes: Religious Institutes and national/international networks involved in the renewal of liturgy, art and material culture; Motives, ideas and significance of the religious protagonists in the renewal; Conflicts and public perception of the persons and institutes involved.
