  Les périphéries de l’histoire de l’architecture, qu’elles soient topographiques, chronologiques, épistémologiques, méthodologiques, historiographiques, sont les ferments d’un renouvellement et d’un recentrement permanents de la discipline. Les contributions attendues se centreront sur les facteurs de renouvellement de l’histoire de l’architecture par l’apport des autres disciplines et de nouvelles méthodes, par l’étude de ses malentendus et de ses angles morts topographiques, temporels et thématiques.

  Tourism Gentrification in the Metropolis

  American Association of Geographers (AAG) Annual Meeting, 21-25 April 2015, Chicago

  This session intends to explain the multiple and complex relationships between tourism and gentrification in the contemporary metropolis. Several questions arise. How does tourism gentrification manifest itself and how does it affect the urban landscapes? What are the impacts for urban design and planning? Who are the actors, the beneficiaries and the victims of tourism gentrification? How do local (tourism) actors cope with tourism gentrification phenomena? What is the impact on local economies, urban functions and services? What are the outcomes for intra-metropolitan territories? What does it mean in terms of metropolitan governance?

  The role of the coastal cities of the Maghreb in history

  La ville est un ensemble matériel et immatériel produit par une société vivant dans un environnement particulier temporel et spatial (Les villes et le monde, du Moyen Âge au XX^e siècle, éd. M. Acerra et alii., PUR, 2011). Notre thématique porte sur  la littoralisation du Maghreb central  en lui donnant une amplitude historique et dont la ville est considérée comme le miroir de l’histoire. On tenant compte du processus de déstructuration et restructuration de l’espace de l’époque médiévale à l’époque contemporaine, jusqu’à la veille des indépendances des pays maghrébins.

  Final conference of the COST Action IS0904

  The International network "European Architecture beyond Europe: Sharing Research and Knowledge on Dissemination Processes, Historical Data and Material Legacy (19th-20th centuries)", chaired by Mercedes Volait and Johan Lagae, and supported by EC funding through the COST Action IS0904, is organizing its final conference.
