  Villes portuaires : perspectives comparatives sur la stabilité urbaine et la sécurité publique

  XVIIIe – XXIe siècles

  Le développement de la mondialisation, au XVI^e siècle, s’est ancré sur une plus grande mobilité des biens, des personnes et des idées. Les villes portuaires ont ainsi été transformées en de véritables centres cruciaux pour répondre à ce nouveau phénomène de mobilité. Les mutations du paysage social et culturel associées au développement du commerce et des transports ont parfois transformé les espaces portuaires en de véritables lieux d’insécurité. Par conséquent, les perceptions et les stratégies adoptées pour faire face à l’insécurité, et à la recherche d’un nouveau sens de la stabilité urbaine, sont particulièrement importantes dans les villes portuaires.

  The workshop is dedicated to questions linking transnational public participation research with transnational social movement activism research and pointing to dynamics of global spread, professionalization and standardization. It aims at discovering linkages, differences and ambiguities in both research fields and invites contributions from diverse disciplines.

  VIIIème congrès portugais de sociologie

  La singularité portugaise présente de nouveaux ponts de communication comparative avec d’autres réalités territoriales et s’offre comme un rare laboratoire d’analyse sociologique. Des phénomènes de régression (structurelle et dispositionnelle), d’articulation de rythmes asynchrones, de changement social, de prolifération du risque et de l’incertitude, de conciliation conflictuelle de modernités multiples dans une modernité inachevée, nous défient de regarder sociologiquement ces 40 dernières années et, dans le même temps, de réfléchir prospectivement sur les tendances et défis du futur.

  Em Portugal, o processo de urbanização, que tem início na década de 50, atinge o seu auge na década seguinte, entrando pelos “conturbados” anos 70. É a época dos HLM, das New Towns, dos “30 gloriosos” que viriam revolucionar a habitação das massas. Portugal também teve os seus grandes conjuntos de iniciativa pública, poucos. A maioria era privada. Era nas periferias ou nos limites periféricos da cidade que se construíam os “novos bairros”, de habitação coletiva ou de moradias, frequentemente clandestinas.

  Sensing the city: explorations in sensory ethnography

  The conference aims to explore the relation between urban places and sensory experiences, drawing attention to the many dimensions of life in the city, mainly those that are rendered by the sense. We are guided by two main questions: What’s the role of the senses in framing, attributing meaning and changing collective and subjective experiences of city dwellers? And what is the relevant impact of sensory registration and analysis on the way of doing ethnography? Our objective is to gather researchers working on urban settings through ethnographic approaches. The senses will be considered both as an epistemological proposal – through which one sees the urban phenomena – and a methodological approach to the city.

Has sought to establish a dialogue between those who, within the University, promote scientific work and those who, like other professionals in sociology, deal with diverse activities in the global society, without forgetting those who labor in the other frames and that require a systematized knowledge of Portuguese social reality.

  Action publique et problèmes sociaux dans les villes intermédiaires

  A Ação Pública resulta da interseção e, cada vez mais, da interdependência entre as ações que decorrem das responsabilidades respetivas das Políticas Públicas, através dos diferentes elos que a concretizam e da Sociedade Civil, através das iniciativas que a consubstanciam, entre movimentos sociais e iniciativas locais e as organizações e dispositivos que lhes dão consistência. A Ação Pública manifesta-se na construção e gestão dos problemas públicos ou sociais. O próprio processo de construção e os modos de gestão dos problemas sociais são analisadores potentes das relações de poder que existem entre os atores e das dinâmicas sociais no interior dos coletivos analisados.
