Transafrican migrations and African literatures
Transafrican migrations and African literatures
Initiated by the interdisciplinary program ANR-Miprimo, which investigates the circulation of narratives and discourses of migration through local cultural productions (literature, cinema, media, songs, theatre etc…) and examines the social dynamics they produce in West African societies, this special issue will primarily interrogate the relations between mobility and African literatures. Focusing mainly on the migrations within the continent, the aim of the issue is to look at how African literatures engage with the south-south trajectories, mobility between countries, regions and cities. The special issue will examine the impact of mobility on African literary productions and consider how mobility has affected generic tendencies and modalities of writing and to what extent the oral and written productions contribute to both the imaginaries of migration and social dynamics in Africa.
